gooboo Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I've run into a strange problem with Blender. For some reason my meshes just turn completely invisible when I go into the texture view. If I go into edit mode and select all the vertices, the vertices will show up, so I know it's still there, but the object will disappear again completely when I deselect them. If I go into the solid view, the object appears just fine. What's going on here? Did I press a button and change something without realizing it? I've closed down and restarted Blender multiple times, but it doesn't seem to have any affect. Here it's visible in solid mode- But it goes completely invisible when I go to texture mode- This is my base body model I've been working with on various mods for over a year now, and the textures previous appeared just fine. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with the texture or uv mapping, none of which I changed recently, since it's worked in the past. I don't understand why things have just started disappearing in Blender now. Makes it a little hard to model when you can't see how things will look when the texture is actually applied to your mesh. I would greatly appreciate any help.
kingkong Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 i have 2 suggestions : - one is in uv map window go to image and replace it by selecting the dds again. : - if the first is not working than it might be because the object is mirrored in this case try to flip normals and see if it reapears correctly . - see if in ' edit mod ' - ' mesh ' - ' faces ' - ' recalculate outside 'works - last thing is to import another object and to join your body to this object (if the body becomes black or dark purple you have to flip normals and separat the mesh , you delete the imported object test). if it does not resolve the issue post your file.blend maybe someone can help.
gooboo Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 I tried importing a piece of armor from another file and attaching it to the bodymesh like you said, and it didn't seem to change anything. The texture on the armor appeared normally, but the body was invisible again. I know what you're referring to when you mention the mesh turning purple or black, which means something is wrong with the texture, but I'm not even getting that. The mesh just stays invisible entirely. I tried re-loading the .dds file, and that didn't change anything. I also tried flipping the normals around, and that didn't seem to change anything either, so I don't know what's going on. Here's the file for anyone who wants to take a look at it. testmesh.rar Thanks in advance.
kingkong Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 just tested it and it has no probleme !!! i just selected all vertex ( A key in ' edit mod ' ) than go look for a file.dds and nothing was wrong !!!
gooboo Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 I swear this thing still isn't working for me. Here is the mesh in object mode with the texture view selected. The only way I can see it at all is if I press "a" and highlight everything. Even then the texture itself doesn't show up. I have no idea what's going on.
kingkong Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 maybe a reinstall of blender !!! , or else video card update directx or python or anything else conflicting !!! sorry but i do not know what can cause that in you pc . i can assure you that in my pc your file has no issue .
