Help: Sexy Vests in a different slot

I've tried repeatedly to get the Sexy Vests meshes to take up a slot other than 32. I'd prefer body slot 56. I have created a custom .esp so that the meshes are assigned in CK to slot 56, changed the slots in NifSkope, and made sure that my .esp is after the original mod in my load order. I get various results. The most common result is the "armor" still taking up the body slot and removing anything else assigned to slot 32. Sometimes the meshes are invisible, but still grand the armor bonuses.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe you should edit it in the orginal .esp or you dublicate the mesh, change the body slot in nifscope, dublicate the original in CK and load your new mesh, set new body slot and save it to your own .esp! Then you have 2 version of the armor not intervening with each other.

It sounds like you edited the "armor" record and not the "armoraddon" record.  Both need to be updated to use the correct slot.  Also, if you don't want your "cuirass" (whatever is using slot 32) to be hidden/replaced, remove the body mesh from the _0 and _1 meshes.  Only meshes that occupy slot 32 should include the body mesh.  Just keep in mind that if they use different body types, there will be clipping.

I did change the "armoraddon" portion, and changed the mesh slots in NifSkope with both the _0 and _1 meshes.

Should I do as the previous poster mentioned, and edit it in the original mod's .esp?

I got it working. I made the changes in the original.esp and it worked. So, I'll probably change them back, turn that mod into a .esm and make my .esp, so I can revert to the original if I change my mind.

Thanks for the tips/help guys!
