Deemer Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Hi! Been learning MO lately, and have finally gotten around to understand the program well enough that my game seems stable. What I'm wondering though is this strange overlay which apparently comes from one of my mods, but I can't figure out which one. I've tried deactivating ELFx, Wet and Cold, Frostfall, Enhanced blood textures, and Realistic Water 2 as these seemed the most obvious culprit to me. Still no go. http://cloud-2.steamusercontent.com/ugc/705149414739125297/251F9DB341A936C7EC97AD5C648BAA14C4397F10/ http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/705149414739125001/CF5A925B8C30CE0A80A75E2169F5800DADF92D9E/ It's not gamebreaking, but annoying, as it stays on, but mostly in cold areas. It also seems to mess with some other lighting effects as seen below. http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/705149414739125900/E256F69AC3EFFEA44AE5ABB1DB4E400B44673AB3/ http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/705149414739126164/50BA03C6983A4A35F5D9AC84954E43B262259D34/ The circular light area is what I'm talking about, and it's the same one in both pictures, but it moves with the camera. If you look closely at the first picture you can see the closest dot to the left, and a second one on the shore across the screen a little to the right. Anyone had any similar experience? Any clue which mod causes this? My loadorder: http://modwat.ch/deemer86#/plugins
Meteox Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 This is the first time I've seen such a thing. What I'm going to say is some wild guess so don't take it as THE solution for your problem. Looking at the first picture, it occurred to me that this overlay looks more like lens flare effect. As from my understanding, lens flare effect usually comes with ENBs, lighting mods and weather mods. Try to get those installed and updated correctly. It could be that you made a mistake when you installed them while switching to MO, so make sure you read their description. I know that beforehand as it happened to me too. Not sure if that was helpful but it surely better than nothing. I hope someone with more knowledge be able to assist you further.

After reading your response I tried to remove all weather and enb datafiles, after a little bit I remembered that I lately updated the ENB-series itself. Reverting to an older d3d9.dll removed the strange lensflare immediately, and I assume it works for the other lighting issue as well. I'd really like to try out textures using parralax, but it seems like many of the older enb's don't support this. I assume the conflict is between my enb and Tamriel Reloaded HD which requires enb-series .265 and up. I currently use Project ENB, but guess I have to start looking for a new one Good thing is that my fps skyrocketed after changing dll's Got any tips for good enb's that are also playable?
Meteox Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 It is good to know that I was helpful in some way! Regarding ENB suggestion, my requirement for a playable ENB is one that: - Strikes a balance between realism and fantasy. - Not too stressful on my game to a point I'd have to tweak (More like reduce a lot of its features) it a lot. 40+ FPS without stuttering is perfect. - Allows me to see clearly in the dark without relying on torches/night vision too much. It is difficult to find all of that in one ENB so you'll have to test them one by one. Check out this thread for some screenshot comparison, it helped me the first time I thought of using an ENB. I tried Seasons of Skyrim once but I did not like it, I cannot remember why. I may try it out later though. Currently, I'm using Serenity ENB Extended FX 2.3 and it looks beautiful in my opinion. I only reduced the SSAO quality and scale since I don't really focus on it and it gave me some nice FPS boost. It is worth mentioning that if you want to test out a lot of ENBs, you should try out this tool I found out about the other day, seems good and helpful.

It looks amazing judging by the screenshots Right now I'm using the ENB made by the same guy who made Tamriel Reloaded HD, so they should go hand in hand. It's a nice ENB, but a little to realistic for my tastes (I happen to like the fantasy ones better). Thanks for all the help!
