HDT Tails change to skin color

Need some help on how to make HDT tails from the Nexus mod "HDT Tails Wearable" change color based on my characters skin color, so for example I make my skin red and the tail change to the same color seen this done on some other tail mods like the "HDT Equippable Draenai Tail" mod and I've been messing around with the textures but haven't been able to get the desired effect. Any help would be much appreciated.
