Low performance with carmageddon reincarnation on fast PC

I downloaded the early access beta of Carmageddon Reincarnation from the steam store, and i am getting only 30-40 fps on medium detail settings.

With my computer, I can max out any game with no problems, including Crysis 3 and Battlefield 4.

Carmageddon reincarnation has only mediocre graphics in my opinion, and should not be bogging down my computer that much. If I try maxing all of the graphics settings out, I get single-digit framerates.

My computer specs are the following.

*Core i7 3770K @4.0 GHz
*16GB DDR3 RAM
*Dual SLi Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 (2GB)
*MSI Big Bang Mpower Z77 motherboard
*1000W power supply
*1080p 32" monitor

I think the keywords here are 'early access beta'. Probably needs to be optimized.
