StrifeRaZoR Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Okay, so let me try to explain this better as the title doesn't do it justice. I'm running quite a few mods, but sadly, a list of them isn't needed for this issue. Whenever I loot a corpse or open my inventory...or basically anything that involves the inventory, my game stutters for a few seconds after the inventory closes. Well, if I loot a bunch of objects or open my inventory quite often in an area, the game seems to start stuttering heavily. Now, let me define the stuttering. It is NOT FPS loss. It is a very noticeable stutter when moving the camera. It almost feels like a Vsync/refresh rate issue, but I've already tried everything to correct those, so it has to be something else. I originally thought it was due to scripts, SKSE, or SkyUI, since those are the main culprits. I've tried different versions, reinstallations, INI editing, and even specific mods that claim to make things run smoother. Which is why this is not an FPS issue, as the game runs at 50+ FPS until certain things happen. I've tried disabling all mods, but the slowdown still occurs at random points (usually when closing my inventory or walking near specific objects/locations). Now, my hypothesis. The only thing that is different about this Skyrim installation and my previous perfectly working installations...is the operating system. I went from Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit to Windows 8.1 64-bit. That is literally the only change. Any help/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Please rule out any basic GPU/CPU editing as I've already done everything from flashing my BIOS, installing old AND new GPU drivers, changing my frequency/voltages, editing Catalyst Control Center settings, etc. Edit: I've found a location that lets me reproduce the stuttering and very low frame rate. Hob's Fall Cave, between Winterhold and Dawnstar. Outside the cave I get 60FPS. Inside the cave, around 4. I believe I'm narrowing this down to textures...or something.
StrifeRaZoR Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Okay, I fixed it. Turns out it was my body textures/meshes. I was using ADEC with a bunch of ADEC armors installed. I uninstalled the armors and switched my meshes over to 7Base and my textures over to SG Renewal. 60FPS at all times...go figure.
