Jay1646 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 So i just picked up skyrim Looking through this forum and nexus is a kind of intimidating for someone who just got the game and hasn't been keeping up with mods. So what are some really good must have Adult and Non-adult mods? Thanks!
Mars Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I would recommend SKYUI first, so you don't have to deal with the rather bad stock interface also "categorized favorites menu". Better sorting is very helpful as well. Really just go into each category and set search options to either most downloaded or most endorsed descending and look through the first couple of pages, this should show you some of the most used mods for each categories. Not much in the adult way of things right now but body replacers, just pick your fav there. Think there is animated prostitution(early buggy stage) and masturbation for one of your companions so far.
deviousMarsupial Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Here are some I'd recommend: SkyUI - as already mentioned ApachiiSkyHair - much nicer than most of the vanilla hair styles DimonizedUNP female body - nicer looking female bodies. Calientes Female Body is also an option. If any of your other mods require one or the other, decide based on that. Realistic Water Textures - Makes waterfalls especially look more realistic Enhanced Blood Textures - Improves blood splatter textures, especially the ones that appear on your screen Realistic Lighting - Dungeons become much creepier with proper lighting effects No More Blocky Faces - General improvements to how faces look Coverwomen - Nicer looking female faces Covereyes - Nicer looking eyes, in general Realistic Smoke and Embers - Embers especially look awesome with this Real Ice - Dramatically improves the look of ice Nicer Snowflakes - Changes the snowfall particles. There are a couple different options here, depending on how you want the game to feel. Sounds of Skyrim - Improves the soundscape These are the mods that I always keep active. They're also all cosmetic mods. There are plenty of great options out there for adding weapons and spells and rebalancing stats, but I would strongly recommend a vanilla play through first, so you know how to want to cater the game. Otherwise, it's too easy to make yourself overpowered or to make the game too difficult. If you're a roleplayer, you may also want to look into Hardcore Mode and Frostfall. The former simulates the hardcore mode from Fallout: New Vegas, and the latter addresses the fact that, despite claiming to take place in a harsh, snowy environment, the game never actually simulates cold.
lkl Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Now its that you guys posted, so it doesnt have to be from Loverslab. I'd recommended (majority are just combat and spawns) War in Skyrim IV (WiSIV) WARZONE - Civil Unrest (Requires good PC, or else you might crash) Occupy Skyrim Hell at Helghan (Requires good PC also, or you might FPS lag) PISE (I just get the spawn increase) DFB Random Encounters Intense Difficulty (Makes Master go harder by 2x, 4x, 16x, 32x) Deadly Dragons Skyrim Monster Mod Killmove + Everlasting Weapon Enchantments (Unlimited Enchantment, if you're sick of recharging) Zombie Apocalyse (For fun) Boots of Nimble Speed (Enchant for Speed, Disenchantable too) Deadly Combat Skyrim is a bit too easy for the tons of hours. Though its the same thing over so uh, I just use this and to make it challenging and slightly realistic. (Except the enchants) If you want, you dont have to get the Intense Difficulty or WiSIV or Deadly Combat or the other PISE uses. Just grab the spawn stuff and have fun.
thesapien Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 War in Skyrim IV (WiSIV) WARZONE - Civil Unrest (Requires good PC' date=' or else you might crash) Occupy Skyrim Hell at Helghan (Requires good PC also, or you might FPS lag) PISE (I just get the spawn increase) DFB Random Encounters Intense Difficulty (Makes Master go harder by 2x, 4x, 16x, 32x) Deadly Dragons Skyrim Monster Mod Killmove + Everlasting Weapon Enchantments (Unlimited Enchantment, if you're sick of recharging) Zombie Apocalyse (For fun) Boots of Nimble Speed (Enchant for Speed, Disenchantable too) Deadly Combat [/quote'] On a first playthrough??? Many of these, IMO, are best only after already playing the vanilla and only for those who want more fighting. Just the extra loot alone (from all the extra kills) kind of ruins the original progression. I guess, I'm suggesting caution for this list.
thesapien Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I would recommend SKYUI first' date=' so you don't have to deal with the rather bad stock interface also "categorized favorites menu". Better sorting is very helpful as well. [/quote'] SKYUI looks great and everyone seems to like it. I don't know why I like the old menu so much, maybe because I'm using a 360 controller on my PC. Though Categorized Favorites Menu was one my favorites, too, after customizing it for my preferences. It's downside is that you can't pick left or right hand like on the vanilla favorites; just a cautionary note to OP.
thesapien Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Oh, and just a few more words of caution on cosmetic mods, most seem pretty safe in that they won't break the lore of the original game for someone just starting to play, but not all are universally seen as improvements. Sounds of Skyrim was one I removed because it adds all sorts of random sounds not associated to anything in the game. You'll hear stuff that isn't happening or doesn't exist, like disembodied sounds. To me, it made the game feel shallow and fake. After you've had some experience with the game and learned to be comfortable adding mods and tweaking some mods yourself, I would then recommend using ENB, specifically: http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=303 ENBPM has some amazing settings that I found myself barely tweaking. See screenshots on the above page link. Edit/PS: With my own settings for ENB, see screenshots: http://s176.photobucket.com/albums/w178/galenzzz321/ I turn off Adaptation then retweak the lighting so darker scenes are, well, darker, tho not many shots of this because, well, they would be dark pictures.

[/quote'] Worked well on my first playthrough after 10 hours even though I haven't fully completed the game. (Still on my first playthrough today, after 5 weeks) And as for your ENB, good job I like the color makes my Skyrim look so ...pretty @Jay1616 Fighting Styles of Tamriel http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12157 It's fun =] If you cant be bothered installing SKSE for the SKUI etc Use QD Inventory http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=667 Natural Favourites Menu http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5229 ipHUD (Makes the HUD look more organised or Efficient [whatever that means]) http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4210 Colored Map Markers (Useful, beats the greyish markers) http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1327
