Hey guys, first I have to apologize for my following bad english :D

Well, I would like to ask you guys if someone knows and loves the Grandmarshal's claymore from World of Warcraft as much as I do..

I really love those huge 2H Greatswords, so maybe one of you got some modding skills to create it for my fav game Skyrim ?

Grandmarshal's Claymore shown below :

Btw I don't want to open another thread to also ask for another weapon, the following sword is surely known by many of you ??

Maybe someone who likes it as much as I do can create it ?

- This one is a 2H Sword too, called Zin'rokh - Destroyer of Worlds

I know the textures would be more than just pretty bad If it would be imported to Skyrim, any suggestions for this? New hand made textures would be way too much work, I guess..

Thx a lot, looking forward to your replies!

How about if I point you in the direction to get the tools so you can do yourself? It really isn't that hard. Mostly. Or you could wait and I'll eventually get to them.

First of all thx for your reply!

Well I've never worked on mods, meshes or textures so far.. I thought 3Ds Max or stuff like that is needed for such work?

Maybe you can name me some tools so I can have a closer look on how it's done.

I just browsed your WoW projekt - I really love it and I look forward to further updates!

Best greetings

I think I am going to have to make a tutorial.

But in anycase I use Blender, Nifskope, WoW Model Viewer and Gimp with a BLP plugin. You will also need to have a copy of WoW.

Briefly: I use WMV to export models as *.obj files. Open them with Blender, along side a comparable object from Skyrim, and enlarge the WoW mesh to a decent size.

I use Nifskope to open the *nif of similar Skyrim weapon, and import the modified WoW.obj over the main mesh. And finally I use Gimp to open the .blp or .tga that is the main texture for the WoW weapon and save it as a *.dds.

That's the short and dirty of it. As I think about it I am going to need to make a tutorial.

lol the topic got 'grandma' in it

and

are there really so many WoW fans? i wonder why its so much liked o.O i dont like it lol its exactly like every other mmorpg too... just that you pay for it lol

and LOL

the swords are looking so simple... like 5 minutes of work on each (if not less for a more experienced modder)

Well at least I got some experience with Gimp.. Used it a lot back in the days.. But I don't even play WoW anymore. Luved the classic times with those 48h alterac PvP and so on but with the addons everything took a way too big change in my opinion.

The two swords were my fav ones in my early teenage :D

..And I've never been able to wield them :(

Thanks for your help yote! But I think a tutorial is not that neccessary cause I guess I wouldn't get it either how the whole stuff works -.-

@Wakana:

In Europe WoW is/was the most played MMO I guess.. at least in Germany were I come from.

Had a great time in it with about 90% of my friends (way more than just 2^^) :D

God damnit..that have been nerdy times :o

You got modding experience ? I wish it would be that simple for me :X

I ported the ZG sword into Oblivion (along with the larger version from ZA) but I've yet to find any conclusive information about porting weapons and shields into Skyrim.

I'm hoping its possible to mod these kinds of things for Skyrim with just Blender and Nifskope. I seriously dislike 3DSmax. :(

I have a lot of epic memories from playing WoW' date=' and a lot more not-so-epic-hilarious memories, like being asked if I was an NPC, or why I was tanking with DPS weapons, or doing more damage than my party while tanking, or using a tankard to tank with.

It probably takes about 10 for me, but afterwards I end up doing a bunch of fine tuning and shit. None of the WoW models have a normal map, or an eviro mask, so I end up fucking around trying to get them look not so glossy and shit. Some of the weapons have multiple meshes and don't have the UV sets for each mesh import. Some weapons have other effects like glows and particles, and that takes time. I still haven't tried adding particle effects.

I don't have 3DSMax. I'm using Blender, Nifskope, and WoW Model Viewer.

Is there a tutorial or other information you could link that would help me understand the process? I've got tons of Oblivion weapon/shield models (many from WOW) I'd love to get into Skyrim but I can't find a thing on how to go about doing that.

Mhh..maybe this can help you ?

There are 4 parts of the tutorial. The link shows the first one and the used tools + where to get them are shown in the video description.

There also are links to freeware modding tools in the description and the modder says that the general process is the same with all those tools.

I think I'll have a closer look on that too when I'm home from work.
