Curious about shouts and Child NPCs

I am quite curious, is there a way to make shouts work on Child NPCs? I have the killable kids mod and would rather use a shout to make them leave me alone than kill them, i also have a mod that makes some kids hostile and they tend to blast me with destruction magic or carve me up as i walk away. I wanna use the disarm shout or bend will shout on them to make them leave me alone.
