Regallag the Perv Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 My computer broke, so I had to nuke the hard drive, re-install windows and do some hardware stuff (but I didn't do anything to the graphics hardware or software). Â Naturally, one of the first things I did was to re-install Skyrim. Â I started a new game without any mods installed just to make sure it works, and sure enough there was a problem; The screen flashes sometimes, like a colored strobe light blocking my view of everything. Â It doesn't happen all the time, just enough to be annoying with out rendering the game unplayable. Â It seems to happen when the sky is visible and when using potions (that flashy effect that they give). Â I turned off anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, but the problem persists. Â Any help would be appreciated.
badbat111 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 i have that like the loading screens will show odd green lights in the smoke
Regallag the Perv Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 i have that like the loading screens will show odd green lights in the smoke Yeah, I forgot about that. Â The smoke in the loading screens can be bright neon green or purple (although truthfully I think that part of the glitch just looks really cool).
DurtyNelly Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 What GPU do you have? It could be drivers, or maybe (possibly) artifacts. Â Could we get a picture of it, please? It would help a lot ruling out one or the other. Â Â
Regallag the Perv Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 I tried to get screen shots but it hasn't worked, it won't show the flashes. Â Attempts to get screen grabs of the weird color loading screens only show a blank black screen. Â The only hardware difference between now and before is that I used to have 4 memory sticks and now I only have 3 (one of the slots was burning them out).
Regallag the Perv Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 I managed to get a screenshot of the flash (ignore the blurriness, that's the drunk effect from RND):
Regallag the Perv Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 I managed get a few more screenies:
