[request] breakable armor and weapons

a big problem with skyrim is how overpowered you become once you get a decent set of gear

 

i propose that an armor's protection rating x10 or x100 becomes it's health

it absorbs a percent of all damage as usual

but the absorbed amount subtracts from the items health

the same with weapons, so that x, the damage rating, x/10 or x/100 is subtracted from its the weapons health with each hit

jewelry could be damaged by calculating it's monetary value as health and subtracting 1 dollar per hour

 

when the jewelry, weapon, or armor breaks, it is gone for ever

this makes unique items more valuable, it makes you +1 sword as vital as your +2 and plus 3 swords

it makes smithing useful again. and brings back balance to the difficulty.

 

 

expert mode: cause broken items to drop one of the components used to make it, but not enough to recraft.
