pozertron Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Well, i just made a .txt file and renamed it's extension to .ini
nutluck Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Well, i just made a .txt file and renamed it's extension to .ini Yep that is how you do it, but a lot of times people don't know that. Anyways that will help clear up stuff in your save files and greatly improve memory usage which should dramatically cut down if not completely eliminate any crashes. Go give the game a try and see if it helped, it should.
pozertron Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Nope, still crashed 2 min after i started.
nutluck Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I am surprised by that. Have you run TES5Edit to see if there is any conflicts or issues? If the memory patch didn't help at all, I am starting to lean towards it is a mod conflict of some sort. But we are rapidly getting to the end of my knowledge about this stuff.
pozertron Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Everything seems to be in order http://postimg.org/image/yfmj1qibp/full/ http://postimg.org/image/g2fyre3rn/full/
nutluck Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Hmm well we have now exhausted my knowledge of trouble shooting modded skyrim. My only advice I have left is very drastic but effective. It is what I ultimately did after my first hash job of trying to mod skyrim. That is to remove all the mods, and reinstall skyrim fresh. Once you have a fresh clean copy of skyrim, install SKSE and SkyUI. Then test the game and make sure it is not crashing. Then start adding your graphic mods you have 2-5 mods at a time. Install a group of mods, then go play skyrim, don't make a new save. Just if no crash exit game and add 2-5 more mods. Do all the graphic ones first then start on the other mods. Keep doing this until you log in and start getting crashes. At that point uninstall the last mods you had just added and then log back into skyrim. Since it was never had a new save it should be fine again. Exit Skyrim and start loading those last mods where the crashing started again 1 at a time. Load 1 mod launch skyrim and test and keep doing that until it starts crashing again. At that point you will know which mod is causing a crash. Set that mod aside and go back to loading 2-5 new mods, if it crashes again rinse and repeat the steps to find the mod causing the problem. Once you have all the mods installed again and any that causes problems set aside. Go research the mods set aside to see if they have known compatibility issues and if the do how to fix them or just discard the mods and don't use them. Doing this is a long slow and boring process but you should end up with a stable playable modded Skyrim. In the end that is what I did. Perhaps someone else might be able to better help you to fix the problem with out doing this drastic step, but at this point we have hit the limit of my ability to help. Best of luck and I hope you figure out the problem and get it fixed. Because despite all the effort and pain, modded Skyrim is worth the time and effort.
pozertron Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 I have done that so many times that well.... i think at this point it's not even worth it anymore. Skyrim is not that good of a game anyway compared to Oblivion or Morrowind. All it has going for it are pretty graphics. I might as well just try and mod Oblivion instead. Thank you for your advice though, maybe someday i will get back to it and give it another try. P.S. Do you know of any website where i can see some essential mod lists for Oblivion by any chance? "essentials like, fixes and most used mods like skeletons/bodies etc" EDIT: The real problem is not the number of mods i use, the real problem is that i don't understand how to use any other mod manager other than NMM, and whenever i try to learn a new one, i just can't understand half of it and give up.
nutluck Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Not really, I have played Oblivion before. A friend owns it and he lent it to me years ago. But I don't own it and back then I wasn't even aware of mods for these games. So I have never modded Oblivion, so I have no idea what all mods exist for it. Other than just going to nexus and looking at the oblivion mod list. Also you are welcome and some day hopefully you get Skyrim working. I personally liked Skyrim modded better than Oblivion. My only real issue with Skyrim is the main quest aka dragonborn which I hate.
pozertron Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Oblivion just has better content in general, characters are memorable, Guild quests are waaaaay more fun than in Skyrim, colors are not quite as bland.
pozertron Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Let this topic be restored! I decided to get back to Skyrim now that i'm done with Oblivion "which turned out quite nicely actually" What i wanna do now is just make a barebones modded Skyrim with no visual/technical enhancements, just the default game + bug patches + buncha followers + better leveling system. The question that i have now is.... : I need a rape mod so i can deal with bandits the way they deserve. Why i need to ask about such a thing? Usually when i get into installing SexLab Framework, i end up installing everything else and not just specific features. More than half of those i never even use but, i just can't understand how to install specific stuff.....
DurtyNelly Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I use SexLab Defeat. Works great for me. You can even turn PC rape off if you prefer to always be the aggressor.
pozertron Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 So all i need is the Framework and Defeat?
DurtyNelly Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 You need: SexLab Framework 1.58b +SKYUI 4.1 +SKSE Alpha build 1.7.0 +FNIS 5.1.1 + also do no forget to download and install the creature pack under optional files. So, pretty much.
