Skyrim Romance Mod 1/21/2015 Banned from Nexus

Hello Everyone,

I’m sad to say that Nexus has banned Skyrim Romance.  This is because I was trying to raise money for my team.  I had a pay pal donation link on my description because I didn’t know how to make one on Nexus.  I did start a kickstarter, but once I learned it wasn’t aloud by Bethesda Rules I took it down immediately.  I really do hope that Nexus doesn’t keep the mod banned.

But I hope you can all understand that I only wish to pay my voice actors, writers and my whole team for the wonderful effort they’ve put into this mod.  The money I wanted to raise was going to go towards making another release of Skyrim Romance update that would be as large as the first release and also the money was going to go into making a Skyrim Romance for men as well.  This project is going to continue for years to come.  I have placed a download link for the mod on the website and also you can download it here.

Sorry everyone for the inconvenience and hopefully Nexus will accept Skyrim Romance back.

The thing is, when that first came about, before it hit hot files, it didn't have that many writers It had the 3 pictures of the guys, and 2 writers and herself. Now that developer page is chock full of peoples names.She was officially warned, she removed peoples comments, her face image is a lie ... (Holy crap she removed the image she was claiming was her. Shoulda taken a damn screenshot), she knew what she was doing was wrong by removing comments from her nexus page.

 

She's proven herself a liar and I don't believe that one bit. I don't doubt she put a shit ton of work into that mod. There's no need to inflate her sense of entitlement by creating bigger and bigger lies just to try and weasel money out of honest people.

Hard work was put into the mod, yes, but this whole kick starter thing was way, way out of hand.

I couldn't help doing reverse searches on the other pictures after discovering she's trying yet again to hide lies by removing the picture she claimed was herself. (I frickin' despise heavy duty liars and she's proving herself to be one of those)

 

Now, only one of these images that produced anything mentions that they were working on the project at all. The ones that came up are real names. So maybe she does know them. She's got one hell of a friend base if she does. One of them even has an IMDB page. I just... I dunno but seriously. If she promised people money for their work then she was still in the wrong and 50k is like... ugh it's making my tummy hurt to just think about it.

 

In case any more pictures mysteriously changed...

Why don't you publish your mod on this site ?

What is the problem ?

Also, is there any description to the installation/uninstallation procedures ?

Thanks for your efforts.

 

  1. The running consensus among us here is that we and LL modders do not directly ask for payment in exchange for using mods, because--
  2. According to the EULA, Bethesda policy prohibits commercial sale of any user-made mods.
  3. The Kickstarter attempt by the mod's author is a violation of that no-sale policy, and of Nexus as well.
  4. If the author were to try registering and uploading her mod here, she'll face considerable scrutiny regarding her actions towards the modder community as a whole... But that is not going to happen anytime soon because she just committed career/reputation suicide.

Bottom line: she's finished in Skyrim modding.

Yeah this is...ugh...and I like this mod  :(  :(

 

This is an integrity issue though; I'll see about uninstalling when I get off of work.  I don't want to endorse something with this amount of shady undertones.

I'm usually a lurker but I just wanted to say thanks for posting this.  It really made me quite disgusted about this mod author sadly.  She didn't need to make this "big" fancy website to showcase the mod in the first place.  So she had no reason to post potentially fake pictures of herself or others.  I mean I don't care what my mod authors or voice actors look like usually so its not something I would of looked into anyways.

 

Totally uninstalled it after reading all of this.  I originally wasn't too bothered by the asking for donations thing.  I mean it was a big mod (but $50k big is a huge red flag).  So seeing all the other questionable stuff going on with this makes me very disappointed.  But it needed to be known.

Don't delete the thread, There's been no personal bashing going on. A lot of disbelief and anger yes. It brings to light some serious issues and no one is bashing anyone here. There's honest questions and some honest answers would be great; but I don't think we're going to get that based on what people have been saying elsewhere about trying to ask her questions.. (and the fact that she keeps deleting posts and things that have comments that bring up her indiscretions.)

But this exposure helps show the difference between people actually donating because they're appreciative of hard work and an attempt at weaseling/extorting/whateveryouwanttocallit money from mod users.

Was it really that many, though? From what I read, the group of people that worked on it was actually quite small, but right before the Kickstarter was announced, the 'Meet the Team' section at the site magically quadrupled. I get the impression a lot of the people listed aren't real, and were added just to attempt to justify the $50,000 KS. Take a look at it, there's SIXTEEN writers listed, who the hell needs 16 writers to write dialogue for a romance mod?

Same. I got the feeling they spent more time developing the website than the actual mod. Then again, I didn't play it for long.

 

 

Same here ^^ I never even got this mod to work :P tried it several times on different characters, but I never had any dialogue option to start this mod... was a bit disappointed, really wanted to give those npcs some undead lovin'

when so many people have been working on this mod, then I wonder why they have not developed a completely new game? Skyrim the eighth. :lol:  :lol:  :P
