stolen1101 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 What if you were not the dragon born? What if you were just someone who was about to be randomly executed, and while the dragon was fighting with the stormcloaks/imperials during your escape, the dragonborn came and killed the dragon in front of your face. Of course. you'd escape tell of an attack, but there would be a NPC who was killing dragons, and you'd be "helping them" (not necessarily) by either aiding them or simply watching as they fought the dragon (and various other monsters) in the game. This character could be marriageable, and you could follow them/they follow you, but you would have no access to shouts, and this would in turn make the game slightly more difficult. To add onto that, training to the next level could also take longer, as being a "chosen one" you seem to learn things instantaneously (like when you know a shout and unlock it with a dragon soul). Imagine how interesting the core gameplay would be if it wasn't you. The person could die, and potentially the role reversal could end too, but perhaps in a way such that it was scripted and not able to happen by you intentionally murdering them. Of course, this mod would require rewriting several quests with the creation kit, and hours upon hours of effort, but the impact would be stunning. If you died, it wouldn't matter. To make increase the immersion of the mod, it could include multiple decisions not available typically to the dovahkiin, such as joining a group of bandits or being of part of the Silver Hand. Without any forced "requirement to be against evil" (in the general sense, as stealing and assassination are typically bad, but in this game never seem to truly be evil) it could open up a world of possibilities.
