Perma-Gagged?

Hey Guys,

As part of Sanguine's Debauchery my character was enslaved. The owner immediately slapped a gag on me. I have since escaped from the owner, who promptly appeared and was slaughtered by city guards. I picked up his master's key and unlocked the blindfold he also put on me. I unequipped the gag as well, but the gag still appears physically on my character despite being unequipped in my inventory screen (or dropped from my inventory). I also can not re-equip the gag. I've tried loading and reloading several times. I can talk to NPC's normally, so this is purely a cosmetic anomoly. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I keep having this issue as well, and it's annoying as hell.  I don't know what causes it, but what I have been doing is finding a safe place to dump my current inventory, then using the console command: player.removeallitems, and then it disappears, I then grab my stuff out of the box I stuffed it in and everything's good.

If you DON'T put your stuff in a safe place before the command, it's not fun, be warned.

I originally posted this in the Captured Dreams topic but I have found this method for removing troublesome DD gear to be helpful so I thought I'd share my solution to devices that either won't remove OR show as being removed but are still visually on the character (hopefully this hasn't been posted before):

1) Figure out which item is the problem

2) Open console and add another copy of the offending item

3) Equip the copy

4) Drop the extra item (usually nothing actually drops but sometimes a duplicate will show up)

5) "New" item should be able to be unlocked normally (I usually use keys via Curse Loot or For the Masses)

Can't guarantee this works 100% of the time but I've found it helpful.

THAT WORKED! Thank you kindly. I'm adding that to my notebook of useful commands. =)

What you can do without purging all inventory is

target you char in the console - click on yourself while console is open

type showinventory

find the bugged item (would be labelled only as worn and first 2 digits of its ID would match position of Devious Devices in your load order)

type player.removeitem <that item ID> 1
