Shinkoku
Since my internet is crap, and I have a 15 gig download limit (yay satellite ) I was wondering if it's possible to put Skyrim on an external harddrive and move it to my new computer? (I understand file structure well enough to get everything ) Or does Steam have something in place to prevent this? Like I know some programs like Microsoft can't really be transferred easily Link to comment
Killing Joke
You can copy/paste steam folder and all its games without any problem. Link to comment
~magic~
Yes. CTRL+V will work. Â The only check steam does is on a process basis. Skyrim checks to see if Steam.exe is a running process, and, if so, if the account logged in owns Skyrim. It does not care where Skyrim is or Steam is, as long as they're run on the same computer. johann7124
Copy your entire steam folder over to the new computer and then reinstall Steam and point it to the established folder. Â https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129 Link to comment
