Metal_Izanagi Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Looking at the Dragon bone/scale armor, I'm bothered that it looks so...cobbled together. At 100 smithing, the player should be making masterpieces like the Daedric set, not barbarian warrior stuff like the dragon bone sets. What replacements, if any, do you use, to make your PC look less like a crazy hobo dragonpriest, and more like a dragonslayer?
birdo23 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I'm also interested in this. I ALWAYS max smithing early in the game but I never bother taking the Dragon Smithing perk because there just isn't any reason for me to take it. The stats are worse than Daedric and the appearance is just another turnoff. Â Â http://www.guildwiki.org/Warrior_Primeval_armor This armor is also made of bones. Â Â This is what Dragon Bone should have been like imo. Â That said, I'm also interested in what other people have found, so do share.
Metal_Izanagi Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 See, now that armor looks pretty badass. Like it was crafted by someone with 100 Smithing. Vanilla dragon bone gear looks like Alduin kicked the bucket at Helgen and the dragonborn decided to spend a day nailing stuff together, and accidentally made some new armor.
cold burn Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Well for the Dragon Scale I combine these two mods http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4884 for the new helmet and this http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4061 for the darker texture, just make sure you install the helmet second. Â Now for Dragon-Bone I would advise either this here (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3846&navtag=file/images.php?id=3846&tab=3'>http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3846&navtag=file/images.php?id=3846&tab=3) which keeps the changes subtle, but looks far fancier with it's gold pieces here and there. Or, if a serious change is necessary, you may want this on- http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3846&navtag=file/images.php?id=3846&tab=3 which definatly looks like a lot more effort and wealth went into creating this armor. However as the bones are now a dark, dull gray they don't quiet match the dragon skeletons. Â Â Edit: I just found this mod, which if you decide to go with that darker dragonbone I linked, will make it so that the bones no longer magically changed color when you forged the armor. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3154
ispanjolas Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 i would say this jinouga from monster hunter portable 3 there is also a light armor version of this but i cannot find it edit. for the light armor it could be naruga
guilmonex Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I love Naruga armor! Â Hope someone port it to skyrim.
WTFBOOM Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 i want more of this armor  http://images.mylot.com/userImages/images/postphotos/2519088.jpg
Metal_Izanagi Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 Um, that's just a bikini/thong. Are there any actual replacers out there? Let's try to keep this on-topic, those of you that might have such witty responses as WTFBOOM.
ispanjolas Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 so any chance to se those jinouga and naruga armors as replacers or standalone with body slider suport (preferably UNP ) (intention of this post was to bring this thread to the top so modders would notice )
