Crash on Hardcore mode prompt

i just managed to install new vegas, but i can't seem to get past the hardcore mode promp, it constantly crashes there, it crashes whenever i picked either the first or the second option ( [No, recommended] and [Yes]), anyone can help?

 

E : it seems to crash when i launch it through NVSE (though i only have MCM for testing so i'm pretty sure it isn't the cause), but i don't know how to fix it, considering both the game and NVSE are already the latest version
