[REQ] Valkyrie Profile Armor

Given the games nordic theme, I would like to request the armor worn by Lenneth and Hrist from the PS2 game Valkyrie Profile 2, as seen in theses shots:

Yes I know there is a "white valkyrie armor" mod floating about, but it looks no where near the "actual thing".

There was a lenneth armor for oblivion but it was just a

recolor of a vanilla armor to look like lenneth's armor lol...

 

It would be awesome to see these since they fit so well in the

game...

Well there was a Japanese (I think) modder that did the ACTUAL Valkyrie Profile armor for Oblivion, but it was only as a private mod and was never released publicly.

 

The retex that was referred to was a retexture of another armor mod that Hentai did (I think), but it never captured the sheer elegance of the real thing. And yes, there was also a retexture of one of the vanilla armors trying to make it look like Lenneths, but that was...

 

So I'm hoping a talented modeller and texturer will pick this up and do the real authentic article. I've put this request up before on Nexus and TES Eyecandy and both were like "Well someone did it as a private mod so the project cant be done." To which my reply was "And HGEC didnt stop you guys from making like 10 different body meshes, or multiple versions of other mods."

 

So I placed the request up again on both of those forums as well as here to increase the chance that it would be done so now we just have to have faith.

Ahhhh!!! Fock!! I forgot i have the lenneth armor for oblivion

installed on my pc lol!!

 

It has various variants including a black one if i remember well...

 

It came along with some dragon buster and tsukihime armors as well

and with ciel's costume too.

 

So maybe someone can port it if i upload the oblivion version of

the armor here? I'll make an screenshot and post it here in a few

minutes lol since i have to take it from a chest in the arena

district...

The armor let's you see some sking but i think someone

could easily add a chainmail or something like that to

make it more apropiate lol...

yes it's wingsarmor. it's somewhere in what mod thread.

 

I can do texture, if the porter is too lazy to edit the texture to the way it looks in the original.

Here's the original mod for oblivion including

lenneth's armor with a brown variant that looks

like Hrst's armor and another couple of other

armors as well since this was a pack.

 

Anyone who wants to port lenneth's armor would

do us a huge favor, i think the archive has a

readme were the original author has his details

for credit pusposes and other stuff...

Yeah, thats just the Shiki armor and its already on Nexus. I knew about that one, but there was a modder (having trouble finding the screenshot) that did an exact replica of the Valkyrie armor. The helmet on the Shiki armor is close I'll admit, but aesthetically the armor has a long way to go before its on the level of Lenneth & Hrists. Not that the Shiki armor isnt cool (its what I used in Oblivion), but its not the real deal.

 

This was a request for a 100% replica of the armor as seen in Valkyrie Profile and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmaria.

Amen brother, I never liked the Shiki armor, too simple and anime-like. Hrist's armor should be no less detailed then vanilla Ebony armor (and perhaps just as detailed as Black Sacrament.)

I wasnt trying to imply that I didnt like the Shiki armor, I do (certain variants anyways). All I was trying to say was it was a poor base/replacement for the Valkyrie sisters armors. The biggest problem with porting from Oblivion to Skyrim that I've seen is not only are the meshes not nearly as detailed, but the texturing palletes are way off.

 

I'm surprised Bethesda didnt put out a specific color palette pack so that people making custom armor etc could use the exact colors from the game so that the armor blends in like it could really have been official. So many good armors in both Oblivion and Skyrim are killed in the texturing.

 

The armors I end up playing with are usually the ones that are the best done mesh wise and texture wise in terms of fitting in with the game in both color and quality.

 

But getting back on topic, I would definitly say armor like Lenneth, Hrist, and Selmaria demands meshes from scratch and not just simple retexturing if one hopes to capture the fine detailed work of the armors. And the texturing would have to fit into the game so it didnt come out looking cartoony. That worked for Oblivion to some extent given the color scheme they went with for that, but in Skyrim it just looks weak.
