[/quote'] I don't condone piracy myself, especially when Skyrim is so cheap - it was only £15 around Christmas. I don't use cracks etc......yet. But I do understand those who do and cannot honestly condemn them if they have gone out of their way to reimburse Bethseda for their product. Steam has done a great deal to force people into grey areas where they own the game - but resent the intrusion of hosting some cynical commercial profiteer's software on their hard-drive. Well done Steam, well done Beth. You have successfully blurred the ethical boundaries to the extent that you are actively encouraging people towards piracy. Tits. The ethical boundaries are being eroded, and straight black/white distinctions are no good anymore. Moralising only makes you sound like a ass at best and a Quisling at worst. We don't like cheapskates much here. Apart from anything else LL cannot be seen to encourage behaviour that will attract unwelcome attention. (There are too many unfriendly eyes beginning to realise that we exist as it is). But many people now find themselves driven into the arms of the unsavoury as the "legitimate" route has been blocked for commercial gain and they aren't prepared to take it lying down (and biting the pillow).
