Want to know how to allow khajiit race to use normal hair styles

I'm trying to make a khajiit replacer, and the new head mesh would support apachi and SG hairs.

Unfortunately, I cant figure out how to allow the khajiit race to use normal hairstyles for human races.

I don't want to replace or convert, just to allow the khajiit race to use human hairs instead of khajiit.

It's not so much that the Khajiit race has something attached to it that prevents the use of a lot of hairs, but more so that the hairs are restricted to non-beast races. What you need to do is open up the hair mod (that has the hair(s) you like) in the Creation Kit, find the hair under Face Parts (iirc), and there is a little drop-down that dictates what races can use the hair.

I'm pretty sure that's it, but I have had very little experience with Face Parts, so I could be wrong. Maybe someone else will chime in.

It'll work, but you may not like the results. I tried enabling more hairs for Khajiit and I seem to recall a lot of weird clipping errors, particularly around the forehead and face.

I have a humanoid head mesh, so there shouldnt be any clippings

But i would prefer to change the head itself to allow for hairs to automatically be allowed, no matter the mod instead of manually allowing hairs

I don't believe you can do it like that. I mean, read about HeadParts here: http://www.creationkit.com/Head_Parts

You'll notice a thing called "Valid Races" that is assigned on an individual level to each HeadPart (such as a Hair). In that drop-down menu, modders can set things like "BretonRace" (to restrict the hair to be used on Bretons only). You have to edit each Hair and change this.

There is a quicker, but not perfect, solution, but it can cause issues. In addition to setting the Valid Race as simply a race, it can be set as a FormList of races (for example, HeadPartsAllRacesMinusBeast, which is pretty self-explanatory). I suppose that you could edit the more common FormLists used and include Khajiits. These would probably be: HeadPartsAllRaceMinusBeast and HeadPartsHumansandVampires. You just double click the form to edit it, then drag in the Race(s) you want (Khajiit, right?). I mentioned earlier that there could be issues. These FormLists do not strictly have to be used for HeadParts; they could potentially be used by quests, spells, etc. Even though I don't believe that Vanilla Skyrim uses these FormLists in those capacities, there certainly wouldn't be anything stopping other modders from using these Formlists in those circumstances. Beyond this, there is the possibility that some mod you are using edits these FormLists for whatever reason, and that would cause potential conflicts.

Adding in the Khajiit races worked, was hoping I could avoid it directly. I'll figure something out later.

Now I need to figure out how to get the khajiit face to use human eyes. Any thoughts on that?

Eyes are also classified as HeadParts; the reasons for the eyes being unusable is the same as for the hairs being unusable. The FormList most often used for Vanilla human eyes (and for The Eyes of Beauty's human eyes) is HeadPartsHuman.
