WesternEnclave Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 The Codex Scientia: I managed to find the Codex Scientia book on the Internet, If you do not know, the Codex Scientia was a guide book that covered all the basics in The Elder Scrolls Arena, it came with the Deluxe Editions of the game. Unless you want to go spend hundreds of dollars on getting a complete set of the game this is the best your going to get. if you have played Arena you will know if you want to even get out of the starting Dungeon and or beat the entire game, you have to know what your doing. Thus it is mandatory you have this book, or another guide off the internet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes the Book is composed of Images and I wish it was one .pdf file, but sadly I don't have the software to do that, If you can, feel free to make it to .pdf form and then upload it yourself and or give me the file to add it here, that would be great! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That Being said at the bottom of this post is the .rar containing the book, Enjoy! Darkwisdom Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Oh man awesome. I still have an old windows computer for old Dos games. Elder scrolls arena and daggerfall are among my most played games. I knew there was something like a codex for arena but never found one (for a good price anyway, those prices yikes) so I got stuck a lot of the time.
WesternEnclave Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 yeah, I know how you feel. Before reading the codex myself I was having so much trouble at the 3'rd Dungeon (of the Main Quest) when I got my hands on the Codex i found out that this game was somewhat designed for spell casters and originally I was playing as a full blown warrior, so now I'm playing as a sorcerer and so far the game is a little bit easier! And yes the prices for the full sets of arena are very expensive, I wish Bethesda include a digital copy of the Codex with the digital copy of Arena. Not to mention it would'ave been nice if they included the answers for the copy protection as well xD Plus the descriptions on specific monsters and enemies that you may have trouble with inside the codex are very useful as well, thank god for those!

Ragged Robin Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Just a suggestion WesternEnclave: Rather than anyone going to the trouble of messing around with turning the thing into a pdf file, download CDisplay. It is a freeware program used for viewing graphic images which are in either a .rar or zip file. Once you dl and install cd display you change the tla from .rar to .cbr or if it is a zip file, to .cbz. The program is popular with comic readers as it is easy to use. you can get it from here: http://www.cdisplay.me/ or from cnet. hope this helps

Ragged Robin Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Without CDDisplay no. The file wills still essentially be a rar file though. Changing the tla wont alter that. CDDisplay is a very useful sequential viewer and handy to have around anyway.
WesternEnclave Posted August 7, 2014 Author Posted August 7, 2014 i want everyone to read the file without having to install some external programs, I hate it when on other forums when i try to install something it's written in some different format or in some different file and thus I need to get that program to read and or use it, Maybe I'll include it in the option files section but I don't know. At the moment I'm extremely busy making another mod so I may not have the time.
siskin Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Here you go The Codex Scientia.pdf New version: Arena - The Codex Scientia.pdf the new version has all the pages straightened and a more complete table of contents, thanks to draco963. This link will never go down. It is properly bookmarked. You can quickly jump to Table of Contents, or Index, find the page you want, then jump to the desired page without scrolling like crazy. I made this effort to have a quality version of this thing for posterity since it's a major piece of TES universe Enjoy.

draco963 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Made a new version of the PDF, with all the pages straightened (much easier to read), and a new, more complete Table of Contents. Can't post the link until I've made two posts though... Damned forum rules... Arena - The Codex Scientia.pdf

I have to say, when I posted this, i did not expect over a thousand downloads... I'm glad you guys liked that pdf version I made. However, it's half assed compared to what draco963 did. Now that, is a true "for posterity" pdf. Made a new version of the PDF, with all the pages straightened (much easier to read), and a new, more complete Table of Contents. Can't post the link until I've made two posts though... Damned forum rules... Arena - The Codex Scientia.pdf So i'll also change my mediafire link to this much improved version.
