Guest Omega1084 Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Everyone knows what it is, huge compilation of armors/weapons, very popular, very large. I was wondering how many people here use it because I'm sort of interested in it but it's huge and I'd probably not use most of it but it would be nice to maybe have some variety in Skyrim. Dunno.. Err.. discuss~! Is it worth it putting in my Skyrim such a huge mod just to have other people not wear the same armor even though they most likely will anyway because Skyrim is dumb?
Jordan Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 I have used it, but I don't use it, mainly because I think it's unnecessary. I mean yeah, there's not LOADS of variety in Vanilla but there's enough to keep me from going "These are the same 4 guys over and over" like I would in something like Payday 2 or the like single Zin model from SR4 and as a result I think this mod is kinda unnecessary, although with weapons it's the other way around since the changes are actually not just cosmetic but diversify the combat and as such make the game more fun
Guest Omega1084 Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Yeah, there's a ton of unique armor and things but I don't see myself wearing most of them Nor do I see myself using the weapons either. I have Unique Uniques installed which makes all "unique" weapons look special and different. That's the kind of thing I'm looking to collect, instead of random heavy and light armor.I was wondering if it put a lot of stress on the game. Dunno how much simple armor/weapon additions affect performance, if at all.

Oh, there's not much of a performance hit at all (Unless it's like a bunch of armours with like 16k textures or something(Which no one would ever do)) And as for the combat variety I meant for the enemies I've got err, whatever weapons come with SkyRe and there's like halberds and shortswords and stuff and it's just nicer to see a bit of variety in what people are trying to kill me with, even if I still use the vanilla swords
EdinMG Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 I have used Immersive Armors for a long time but it became unnecessary for me too, I mean, the variation was kinda nice and all but I have never used not even a single armor added by the mod, and there was just one thing that really kept me using IA, the nice armors used by the so called "special NPCs", like the Battle-Born's, Ulfric, Galmar, Gen. Tullius, Rikke, Ralof, Hadvar...etc, but besides that I really didn't see a very good reason to keep using it, so I removed the mod; now Immersive Weapons is another story, this one I really like and still use it, lots and lots of awesome weapons added by IW, and a great variation too, this one I recommend, go ahead and install it, I think that you'll not regret it !!!
Guest Omega1084 Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Hmmm~~ Alright that sounds good. I think I'm gonna go with bare bones Vanilla and Immersive Weapons along with some random armors that I really like. Kinda keeping it minimalistic for now since there doesn't seem to be a point to have so much stuff installed that I don't really care about. In the end not even the NPCs wear a lot of different armor, they seem to stick to certain motifs so 80% of the Immersive Armors repertoire is never shown whereas the Weapons are, and a few NPCs have cool unique ones.
Duoleb The Chosen Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Immersive armors is fine along with Omegared99's Compilations, Morrowloot 4E and Loot & degradation, i just find ridiculous that he didn't added Expanded Bonemold i used Immerive weapons for a while but i found it useless, The Chrysamere that Hoth used in that mod is useless compared to the Tamrieric Lore http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20496 which has a better mesh, Uses, and isn't insanity's TESA mod
Jordan Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Aside from these if at the end of the day you just want some cool weapons I have to recommend Isil's Lord of the Rings weapon pack, because that mod adds some fantastic and unique weapons that I pretty much always use, especially because it's a small mod with only around a dozen weapons and as such the levels of detail on each are excellent, and it doesn't impose itself on your game (you have to craft them and they're not on levelled lists) AND it doesn't flood your crafting menu since they have to be made at a specific forge.
Camila Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 I use Immersive Armors and Weapons but i rarely use the armors in my own toon, although i always keep it in my game so the enemies have a varity of armors to wear and special npcs have some unique armors. It doesn't give me any fps impact since the armors doesn't have super textures, so i just leave it there.
WastelandAssassin Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I've been using the two Immersive mods for several of my playthroughs, and i love them both mods gives a lot of diversity to the game, though the weapon mod has the largest impact, with each enemy using a different kind of weapon, whereas the armor mod is mostly esthetic and even if i don't use most of the armors myself, i still like to keep the mod, as the armors really look good (and if you want the game to give you easy money, there is one shield in that mod that is perfect for the job) the main question you want to ask yourself is which mods you are going to use, and which mods are compatible if you use a large overhaul mod like SkyRe or Requiem, you need to make sure the mods you'll use work with that mod, and the immersive mods are compatible with most overhaul mods (as far as i recall, there are patches), so they are a rather good choice plus, most of the armors are rather lore friendly, which is a rather pain to find (for example, the TERA armors mod looks amazing, but completely not lore friendly) so all in all, you need to keep two things in mind when selecting mods your personal taste, and compatibility hope this helps
Karin Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I using them always, even in my first game, cant play w/o them. Even if you dont wear them all,npc will^^
