ArchangelicaStar Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Just wanted to start up a thread to let everyone know that I'm more than happy to make myself available to do dialogue, characters, and content for any quest mods anyone might plan to do in the future. I've been writing since I was a child, and my grasp on linguistics and social dynamics tends to lend a lot to my ability to write in dialogue, and I openly offer my services to anyone who wants a mod with clean dialogue. Obviously, I know how to spell and have a vocabulary that's ever-evolving, so I wouldn't mind putting it to work for someone. As well, I type over 120wpm(sometimes faster when I'm in a groove), and am a human spell-checker, so you never have to worry about that. I do not, however, know functional Chinese or Japanese, so this is not an offer to be a translator. Of course, if you find a translator(or do a rough translation) I'd be happy to go over the roughly translated dialogue, and turn it into something workable in English, so it doesn't sound choppy, ridiculous, and nonsensical. What passes for translation in most "translated" mods is a joke, and I'd love to never have to see that in my adult mods(or any mods) in Skyrim. Also, I'm hoping to learn a lot about modding and Papyrus when the CK releases, so I'll be starting to work on finding out what it takes to make a better version of pregnancy and child-bearing in Skyrim, much in the vein of Tamago/Hiyoko Club mods in Oblivion. I felt Tamago Club was decent, and am glad they included a modifiable .INI file with it to adjust values, cycle length, ovulation, fertilization, etc., but its interactivity with Hiyoko(and how god-awful and over-dependent Hiyoko was on multiple and overly-cluttered mods for racial input) and more importantly, Hiyoko's inability to produce sane offspring from cross-species breeding, demanded something more in-depth and comprehensive be done in the future. That said, I'm uncertain if a better version of it was made in FO:NV, as I don't own the game, but I felt it was a nice alternative to downloading a mod that simply adds more people into the world to populate it. Seeing couples procreate was a better way, in my mind, of adding to the present population, and even offers a nice boost to the overall immersion of the world itself. Being that Skyrim is in the middle of a civil war makes a child-bearing mod even more appropriate, since everyone knows wars are notorious for spiking birth rates. My hopes are even to include a morality/loyalty scale, to determine which NPC's are willing to play around outside their marital vows, and which aren't(Adrienne seems loyal to her husband, but other women don't seem so wholesome and devoted), and which of them won't be willing to have children with you until you're married. It gives the world some life, in my humble opinion, and it's something I'd really love to see taken to a new level with Skyrim. Of course, to make it really worthwhile, there will have to be a dynamic for limiting population growth, or a more controllable clean-up command(one that doesn't just erase all offspring in a blanket purge, like Hiyoko). Perhaps even putting in place coding to make monogamous NPC females unable to bear more children after a certain number, excepting a "to-PC-marriage" situation. This, obviously, will be long and drawn out, as, unlike some(and proudly like a few) I have no intention of slopping a mod out, though I may eventually look for testers to help me work on conflicts or bug-testing. Anyhow, my services will be available for anyone who needs help, and I will of course welcome any collaboration on other mods, as starting out I will likely seek guidance on a fairly regular basis. Cheers.
