Hentai-chan Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I had my eye on a mod I'd been itching to get the moment I got my legal copy of Skyrim. The PC Exclusive Armor Path or PCEAr, for short, or as I like to call it PCER. Because you don't an 'a' sound when you say 'armor'. So anyway, following the helpful pictorial guide by Raestloz, I managed to extract the files I need and went right ahead and replaced them with Remodeled Armors for 7b. When I opened Skyrim to test out if the mod works, I saw that when I used the spell 'Armor: Change' it did virtually nothing. At least on Dragonplate armor, other armors are quite simply missing their meshes meaning that all I see is a head, a pair of hands and feet and an invisible body. Then I remembered. The author mentioned that I need to get familiar with Creation Kit. Armo and Arma records, to be specific. I have my Steam copy, I downloaded Creation Kit shortly after I bought Skyrim but I have no idea where to begin. I never modded before. There is one side of me that says 'Come on! Screw PCER and just play Skyrim already.' there is another side that says 'You wanna become a modder, or what, mo-fo?' I am with the latter. I want to become a modder! So I came here. I figure if there's anyone that has more experience with the creation kit and if they're willing to help, I can get started. To set the record straight one final time, (if you know, and read it and know it already can skip this bit) I mentioned that I wouldn't touch Skyrim until I got the legit version. Well, I am touching now (as sexual as that sounds), having the Steam copy in my possession. And as far as I know, Creation kit is not handed out to anyone who doesn't even have Skyrim. I know some of you are sick of hearing this but I did tell you that if you know, you don't need to read this bit. So before rage-commenting, read the post thoroughly. To merely prevent looking like a fool. Just saying.
Guest emilio Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 use the previous version of the mod, the only difference is that npcs will use the default folder path for vanilla armors and your PC will use the custom one. It's less of a script load, as, it's only running when your PC picks up/drops armor and not every time NPCs spawn. if you only see a head, then you're missing meshes. with the older version of the mod, the folder paths you put your custom meshes are data/meshes/armor/custom & data/meshes/clothes/custom folders.the armor switch spell only works when you pick up armor. so to switch your dragonplate, you'll have to drop it first.
Hentai-chan Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Yup, it's working. Turns out I put the armor folder in my custom folder. When I should be putting the custom folder in armor folder. Sllly me. EDIT: I got another problem. I'll let screenshots speak for themselves. Berfore you ask, I managed to get them naked. it is not a body model problem. My guess is they are 'forced' to wear something that doesn't have meshes for males. I've been noticing it ever since I got PCER working. And females are fine. Remodeled Armors for 7b comes remodels for clothes, as well. Could that have screwed it up. And additionally I tested PCER while visiting Qasmoke.
