CeeTeeDee Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Hi, i'm working a new armor set which causes skyrim to ctd when i equip it when there is a NiAlphaProperty on the TriShapeData, but no ctd when the NiAlphaProperty is removed, however then the mesh is invisible. I expect there are some vertex errors but I can't find any... either that or its skinning, but i'm using just a default skin wrap. i'm not a 3ds noob, though be sure i'm not an experienced skyrim modder. any ideas? its gonna be a nice set if you help me out, promise, it'll still be a nice set if you don't just not as soon. anyway i'm done with it for today, now the footy.
skyrimkillmod Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 is this a conversion or from scratch? if its a conversion try copy/pasting the niaplha data from the origonal to the covnersion you are working on
CeeTeeDee Posted July 9, 2014 Author Posted July 9, 2014 its a conversion, but the meshes have been cut and edited so its pretty much from scratch. I've managed to fix the alpha problem, the vertex alpha's had not been painted and the normals had not been unified, so now its visible, but even though its skinned it isn't snapping to the body, its just floating next to it. its a lady death conversion for demonica, but i've just taken the idea really and plan to do an extensive remodel, once i get the initial snags out of my workflow... sometimes the skinning works and other times it doesn't which makes it impossible to continue modelling and rigging until a more complex piece is ready...
skyrimkillmod Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 damn, hopeing there would be a easy fix but it sounds like you probably know a bit more about 3ds max then I do. you skip wraped the armor to the body but it still isn't snaping to it eh? did you do the bdsdismember?
