While I was playing Orcs Must Die yesterday, fun game btw and hrs long, I was in-visioning Quick time events for finishers(starting one and during if time permits) and/or adjusting the "quick reflexes" perk to have "slow down" points during an animation of an attacker to start mini-quick time events to allow for parrying, deflection, counters ect. Something more interactive then the button mashing. Of course the % of when the events are triggered can be adjusted through testing.

Of course this type of system will require new animations in which I will do all by hand, nothing will be imported from mocap or other games.

I've been animating off and on over 7 years and have been attending an online private animation school where I'm mentored by Pixar, dreamworks, Disney ect ect. animators.

here's some of my work, youtube.com/wolf103085

If there is anyone out there that would like to assist me in making this happen let me know, I only know Animations and nothing scripted side.

I like the idea of parrying an attack because it gives the feeling of achievement rather than attack, kill then done. I saw a mod that is like this in oblivion but without animation.

I hope you get someone to work with you because this is gonna be so good!

How about the arrows, is it possible to parry that?

EDIT: like in street fighter 3rd strike, when you parry ranged attacks, it does no damage.

there is a perk for it in the "blocking" so it's already there, I just gotta make it happen with the hand to hand animations. Thought about If the % to deflect comes up, you'll get a mini quick time to deflect.
