In the past years I've always have had CTD without any warning and explanation from mods but I don't even know what mods cause this.

I use BOSS to sort out my load order and suggesting any fixes but still has problems.

So, I want to hear your experiences with mods and suggest to me and many other people who read this to see what mods to avoid or possibly fix. :D

use loot instead of boss

There's no specific mods which on their own will cause a crash. The main cause is mods that just aren't meant to be run together or mods that that don't have update.esm as a master and overwrite fixes that other mods are expecting.

Ohhh, what's LOOT? Is it similar as BOSS?

Oh right, but I heard that script mods can mess your game up pretty bad if you have to many.

I used the mod WarZones: Civil unrest and that cause a lot of crashes in areas that were important, after I uninstalled that everything was fine. Are there other mods like that?

Also, another problem someone could help me with: At random occurrences my game crashes randomly. It CTD sometime when it loads, just running in the lands of Skyrim, using a specific weapon or spell or just getting randomly hit during combat then poof.

I may crash after 1-5 minutes of gameplay or sometimes the game is nice and waits for an hour or two (witch is rare for me).

And especially in Whiterun, oh boy... That place is a bitch ;)

I remember reading somewhere that Whiterun is one of the most taxing location in the game for a lot of computers.  I guess a bit more instability is to be expected around there.  But near as I can tell pretty much any mod with anything that even resembles scriptwork in it can cause issues every once in a while.  Something won't activate correctly or will randomly conflict with some other thing it's usually fine with.  One thing to consider is how old the save file you're using is.  If it's been in use for a long time they can become less stable, especially if you've been installing and uninstalling script heavy mods on them.  At least, that's how I understand it, and I haven't looked very deep into how it would be different with Mod Organizer, since it handles things in a different fashion.  Also, it might just come down to the computer you're using.  I know mine's probably not the best to use for skyrim, and even before I added mods to it I'd have the odd crash for seemingly no reason.

If you're really curious to see what mods make your game unstable, I suppose just testing individual mods, or small groups, without the others activated could give you an idea.  But then, it could be a group effort and the game's just trying to keep track of too much stuff.

I just found another small problem :/

When I load my game I'm automatically in combat with a monster from the Witcher Experience mod. Everything is fine when I fight it with melee and crossbow, however once I pop out my flames and start to burn him it CTD!

If I use the flames spell on nothing or on the ground it's fine but just only when I'm making contact on a NPC.

I have a mod for the spell to make the flames give off light when it's equipped, like a alternative torch.
