zzz72w3r Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I could not resist after looking at the screenshots and downloaded a few of the follower mods and everyone CTD because dependency on other mods (I assumed that's what Advanced Mode means from Google Translate). Too bad because the quality appears to be very good from the pics. I wish there is a better way of managing IP in the mod community because most of the best artists do not publish because they don't want to release characters CTD because dependency and there is too much hassle in securing rights despite the fact that no one was looking to profit from the act.
Blossora Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 After looking at it, yes, the "advanced mode" means some of those mods are required. Based off what I've read in one of his articles, he only uses ECE and CMEs. I think this is probably what is most important besides sg hair, as I noticed some facial features that can only be replicated with ECE. And it also seems he exlusively uses those other mods for all his characters. However, the textures shouldn't be needed to avoid ctd, only to make the characters look as close as possible to devillord's. If you already have ECE, I think the reason you're getting ctd on these characters is because you're most likely missing the sg hair version that he uses.
zzz72w3r Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I try to avoid mods with dependency as much as I can and frankly follower mods with very few exceptions just don't add enough to the game for me to bother outside standalone. SG hair is a big mod to install for a basic follower and if I don't get the other mods as well the character won't look like the author's screenshot which defeats the purpose. The very good unique looking followers I've seen are private because the authors (almost always professional graphic artists) use a lot of different mods and custom texture blends and don't want to bother securing rights even if they have no intention of making money from them. As sandbox games becoming more complex and open to modding, I hope there will be a better IP system so more high quality works can be shared.
