longschlongsilver Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I'd like to play skyrim in chinese, even if it were just text or just voices. However, I'm in the UK and the properties for skyrim on my steam library don't have a chinese option.
deryer7 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I can help with voices though, need to do this: *This might crash your game if you are already running the game with mods because apparently some mods dont like different languages 1: Copy your current .BSA files which are located in the skyrim data folder (Hearthfire/dawnguard/dragonborn/skyrimVoices/skyrimVoicesExtra). and make a new folder called english skyrim voices. *The copy is just to be sure you have english voices still around if you want to change back. 2: Change steam itself not skyrim into the language you want (settings - Interface) 3: probbly need to restart steam, then you should get updates for your games in steam wait till those are finished. *If there arent any updates start up skyrim, the updates are there so they change the languages of games) 4: After that drag out the new BSA files you got (Hearthfire/dawnguard/dragonborn/skyrimVoices/skyrimVoicesExtra) into a other folder (Make it chinese skyrim) 5: when you got those new BSA files out of the skyrim data folder you should change steam back to english. probbly will ask again to restart steam. 6: like last time when you changed it back to english it should update agian for the new english BSA files. *And again if not start up skyrim to make it update. 7: Then you should copy the chinese BSA files and overwrite the english BSA files that are in skyrim data folder. if everything went good you should have it in chinese (or any other language if other ppl want to try this aswell) Problems that could occur are:if you have a heavily modded game you could crash it for good. (or even a small modded game could crash it but i dont know abotu that because i only tried it with a heavy modded game 150+ mods)
