Tera Hair Fix help

I figured I ought to start a new thread here before taking up too much room on the "what mod is this thread"

Basically prozac00 was nice enough to upload this

TERA hair pack: http://www.mediafire.com/?ehh9pev53m6hs48

there is also an esp file for the pack at http://www.mediafire.com/?aqfffs0jg5l8zre

Be sure to make the following change for the esp to work right,

Rename the hair folder inside the character assets to Tera Hair

dscythegeo also has it posted here:

http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=4491

The problem is that the hair clips horribly on any weight setting below 100. This isn't a problem if you like big girls I guess, but for those of us that prefer a slender figure its kind of bothersome. See image here:

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=31482

I don't personally know enough about mesh editing to truly troubleshoot this, so I wanted to open it up to anyone that might have an idea.

Currently the only fix I have found is to replace all the mesh_01's in the entire game with copies of mesh_0's renamed to take their place and thus bypassing the weight slider. But that is a ton of mesh files to rename and copy. Any other ideas are welcome.

I may have a clue on why those heir behave a weird way

but thhe problem is that i couldn't make my smax to work with the nif plugin yet

Still i've found something weird on nifscope

The nitrishape seams attached to something that other hair from other mods aren't

let me show you that with two pics

I'm not sure that it's where the problem is but it certainly looks like to

I tryed correcting the hair on 3dsmax and import it as a nif, the weird rig that i was talking about is gone but now i can't see the hair ingame

I guess i'm not experieced enough but i'm still searching

If anyone wants to help i'd be glad : )

I had similar problems. Anything I tried resulted in a bald head though. I'm running out of ideas and my knowledge of nif editing is limited as well.

I might have found out some way to fix this... I was messing around in the Creation Kit and noticed the hairs are linked to a .tri file, which conforms the hair to your character's face.

If you delete the .tri, it seems like it's not borked anymore. I'm going to try it in game in a bit.

Edit: Yep, it works. Here is my character at the lowest weight setting.

I know it's probably not the best fix, but it's something. If anyone is interested, I could try to do the same to all the hairs.

Hrrrmmm...anyone have an issue where the hair pack doesn't work for Wood Elves? havn't tried high elves or dark elves yet so not sure if it is only limited to wood elves or not. buuut anywho anyone else got that issue?

Posted

Is this with my fix? What's wrong with it? Just not showing up?

It SHOULD work with them. I added the hairs to "all races minus beast" in the creation kit. It works on my High Elf.

i don't have an issue with weight, it just isn't showing up in the racemenu slider. Ideas? or am i just missing something obvious and overlooking something simple.

Ok got it working had 2 things outta place, but it kinda looks like the hair is floating over my elfs head instead of being attached..is that normal with this pack? orrr did i miss an .esp file somewhere?

Theres aparantly a rather complex fix for it here:

http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=5216&pid=101819

But I have neither the means nor the skill to do it myself. I've tried every variant of Ran's head meshes out there trying to find the one that works 100% with Tera (that everyone else seems to have) but have so far been unable to locate it.
