Baconsama Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Hello guys,I'm running skyrim in a Dell inspiron 5432,it has both a intel hd graphics 4000 and an AMD RADEON HD 7570M as video adapters, but skyrim only recognizes the shitty 4000 one,any suggestions regarding the .ini files? And yes I do have the newest drivers and both tes5.exe and skse_loader set to high performance in catalyst, but I feel like still HD 4000 is being used, laptop is plugged in the eletricity. Ohh,and a smaller issue,I'm experiencing a problem with the mod that adds robes/weapons/armors from kidgom hearts, color is messed off,as a bunch of pixels randomly together. I'd really apreciate help in those 2 subjects.Ohh,and I'm not running ENB for now.
deryer7 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 There is a option in the skyrim launcher which probbly is for picking out which graph card you want it to run on (cant test it myself only has 1)
Baconsama Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 First thing I ever tried lol, only 4000 appears dude haha.
Babychucker Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Try going into your bios when you boot your laptop and telling your computer to run the OS on your 7570 instead of the integrated graphics.
Guest mercury11 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Try disabling the Intel graphics chip in the control panel so your AMD video adapter takes over as the primary video card. That's what I have done in the past on an older PC I had. See if that does anything.
Baconsama Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 I'll try that panda, and mercury you mean as the device manager?I tried it before but no harm trying again.
hentaijin Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 check bios setting as panda said, if no dice try updating your gfx drivers
Guest mercury11 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Yes, the device manager. But I am unsure if it will work with a laptop. I did it on an older PC that had an integrated graphics card on the motherboard.
Baconsama Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 Well,I'm am running a windows 8.0 and I tried typing BIOS in the W8 menu, and some options appeared, reboot twice, and the most I got was to see if I wanted to boot the computer in safe mod with or without net and that kind of setting,I'll try youtube and re-disabling HD 4000.So far installing a said 13.9 driver, but from what I checked in a forum for now,AMD gives no shit for RADEON HD 7570M anymore, and neither Dell does, but I keep getting some of their software ads such as the backup one. amd_catalyst_13.11_mobility_betav9.5 < name of the archive I'm finishing installing. After disabling HD4000,a catalyst error appeared that the drivers either were outdated or not suitable for the hardware,like...WTF? The last driver was from their very official page...ew.And now that I saw the drivers again,HD 4000 is re-enabled,going to wait until re-installation of catalyst is over so I turn it off.
Baconsama Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 *Update*...after outdating the driver and downloading by windows,it showing issues and so on,catalyst is no longer opening...sweet,no?Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh...
Redflyingmonkey Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Dude you shouldn't have done that. There is an option in the Catalyst for switchable graphics on laptops, you should have selected 'high performance" for TESV, and it'd have made the switch automatically. Drivers for the HD 7xxxM series for integrated graphics on laptops only come around once every three years or so, you already have the latest one and Windows 8 is only going to install another driver while nuking your Catalyst. I did that mistake of updating the AMD driver once, and the only solution I've found to get it back was to perform a factory restoration (thus loosing all of my data). No idea about your armor issue though.
hentaijin Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Well you don't get to the BIOS from windows. You get a menu for a few seconds before Windows starts loading that you can go to the BIOS from. Probably best to not mess with it unless you know what you're doing. Messing with the wrong BIOS settings can make your PC not boot. But it isn't impossible that the setting for the graphic devices is in there.
Gallstafff01 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 From what I've heard, you may be able to solve this by making a profile for skyrim in the Catalyst Control Center. There should be an "add" option under "3d application settings".
