So I have decided to ask for help here again but this time for Skyrim. The game works fine and all, except when I try to merge equipment plugins together. I have tested this, I simply removed the patch and restored the individual plugins. However, it is a annoyance as I was hoping to shrink my load order considerably.

 

One plugin (MyKatanas.esp) wouldn't copy over correctly so I threw that patch away and no longer use that plugin anymore.

Plugin Count: 170-173 With Merged Patch: 140 < 173

 

Any advice on a solution to getting a merged patch for these plugins would be appreciated.

You can not merge Dual Shed Redux with anything. You should only merge plugins which do not have any scripts. If you are more experienced you can try to merge plugins which have scripts but you need to know what you are doing.

 

Also you need to know exactly if any of the scripted plugins do have some soft-dependencies for other mods you want to merge.

Oops, sorry, I didn't mean to highlight Dual Wield Redux. I had figured that wouldn't be good, I did realize that anything with scripts would likely cause some serious issues. I do think all of those highlighted (besides the dual wield redux and it's patch) only add equipment to be bought, found, or forged somewhere.

 

So I'm not sure if that would be the problem, I do know however that I did not attempt to merge Dual Wield Redux with anything at all. That highlight was a mistake on my part.

Hmm, well merging plugins is an art of its own. Not everything can be merged. You can only try to merge one mod with another and test the merged plugin out to see if everything works correctly. After the test you add another plugin you want to merge and so and so forth.

 

Only way to make sure that everything works and then you see which of those plugins is causing troubles.

Ah I was afraid of having to use trial and error... gah, well I guess there is no other way for now at least. Ima go and merge e'm up one at a time . . .
