Intense Latency On Exteriors

This one is kind of a weird one, and I've been noticing it a lot more now that the rest of Skyrim is so stable.

 

I'm not crashing to desktop, and nothing is out of the ordinary, except 8 out of 10 times that I load to an exterior location (inside a City, or into Skyrim proper) I experience *extreme* latency to the point of being unplayable. When I bring up the menu the lag seems to subside and I can save the game, quit the game, and when I reload with the *same* save the game is no longer laggy.

 

I've seen similar sort of topics out on the internet, but the solution for all of them was to reinstall video card drivers. I've tried that, and I'm running the latest NVIDIA drivers (GTX 660 Ti).

 

I was wondering if anyone else has had this, and if they know if it's a specific mod causing the problem.

Bit of shot in the dark, but I'm assuming you have some script heavy mods there, from looking at the list. And if so... yea... bound to happen eventually.

Oh and thank you for being smart and uploading your load order in the initial post.

Pretty sure I had a friend with a similar issue but he ended up crashing. Don't know if he ever fixed it.

You're using quite a few mods that are scripts heavy I guess. Token one by one, they aren't really laggy but if loaded all at the same time, you will struggle with fps.

If you track your FPS you will see they will drop by more then half when this happens.

 

Quick fix without having to stop and save, shut down, restart :

 

When this happens, open your console. Now Alt tab out of game to minimize it but do not close it. Now maximize the game, FPS issue fixed.

 

has nothing to do with scripts FAIK, DOES have to do with Video drivers and certain cards ( my own research shows me it can happen to both NVidia and ATI users ). Seems newer drivers are to blame, but not in either the drivers fault or the games, just something that was done to upgrade for newer games with newer cards that effects certain older cards. Only seems to happen when loading exterior cells, meaning it may have something to do with Ugrids and how they are being loaded by the card / drivers.

 

The min / max game method seems to work because it forces the video card to reload everything back into it.
