I´m starting modding and just moved from textures, which i´m good at to editing meshes. As a startup I learned a bit about nifscope, enough to change body types.

The armor I chose to mod has it´s hip and neck items grouped and I can´t for the life of me seperate them. Can it be done in Nifscope? I tried to export as obj into blender but then the item appears to loose it´s animations and I get the crimson triangle ingame.

here´s a link to the mod if some kindhearted soul would like to give this farmer a hand with the plough :)

I recall having a similar issue...I believe I was trying to separate a bra/panty combo from each other and was unable to do it. I don't think it's possible in Nifskope. You'd have to use Blender and properly import the Skyrim skeleton in with it as well.

I'm not sure if this answers the whole question but in this thread a similar question was asked.

Also, in this other thread Donkey and I have posted two different methods of installing and getting Blender and Nifskope to play nice together.

I'm not sure about Skyrim meshes though. The nifscripts I linked are probably too outdated to deal with them. But there might be a workaround for that if that's the case.

And here is one more thread that might be relevant.

Might need to use 3d studio. haven't seen a version of nifscript yet that is good enough to get dismember skin partitions to work properly in skyrim (yes there are some tutorials there where they mess with the dsp but then they go on to deleting that in nifscope and importing one from the original item, thus leaving partition and weights intact).

Might be wrong though.

Blender can. You just have to make the partitions manually

Thanks for the replys guys, my current problem is that I´ve seperated the armor parts but can´t get them into the game. I´m really enjoying this stuff, haven´t even played skyrim in days hehehe

I´m throwing two files in here if any good samaritan could take a peek and give me some pointers, one is the edited and one is a working mod.

Thanks again :)

EDIT: Nevermind guys, I figured out how to scale the vertices DUH! so I´m good for now... I still need to learn how to get new objects into the nif though, this is just too much fun :)

I'm just wondering is the a way just to copy one part of clothe from one armor mod to different one. For example I want to change panties, so I delete everything from NitriShape from armor part I want to change and fill it with NitriShapeData BSDismemberSkinInstance and BSLightingShaderPropers of armor part that I like. And new pants eppear, I change a location a bit and save. But after I try to wear this armor the game crash.

What I should to configure, so the game wont crash anymore, or it's just impossible?
