razgriz416 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 So, after spending about 2 hours zeroing in on the reason why I can't launch Skyrim... I've come down to the following information: Â Â I can launch Skyrim through the launcher (IE: No SKSE), with all mods enabled. It works, but throws the "No SKSE" error. Mods have been cleaned, run through boss, TES5Edit, everything should be working just fine. Â Launch Skyrim through the launcher, with no mods enabled. Works. Â Launch SKSE, with all mods enabled. CTD, not even the bethesda logo. Just a straight up "This application has stopped working" about 2 seconds after SKSE auto-closes. Â Launch SKSE, with NO mods enabled. CTD, still no bethesda logo, screen just flickers black and then the "This application has stopped working" window pops up. Â Verified game cache through steam. Disabled anti-virus, and tried all of the above again, to the same results. Â Â I've uninstalled and reinstalled SKSE several times now, still not working. Run as administrator, and set to "Run as Administrator" for all users. Still not working. Â I've just come to the conclusion that this build of SKSE is... FUBAR. Part of the reason I avoided updating until a mod required me to do so. (IE: SexLab Framework 1.50+) Â Suggestions?
DarknessLilly Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 some mods should not be cleaned you have to be very carefull weather you should clean them or not and boss does not always put mods in the right order i used longbows mod and it comes with its own perks but boss always puts it before the dragonborn and dawnguard parts of that mod when useing boss i would say its just all a good suggestion but not 100% correct and you might as well post your mod list if you really want help but i asure you its not skse 1.7.0 since i have been useing it for months now with out a probleam hope this helps
nutluck Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Remove all the SKSE from your game folder and then reinstall 1.7. I have been using SKSE 1.7 almost since it came out and have never had a problem with it. Works for me fine with the latest sexlab.
razgriz416 Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 @DarknessLilly I didn't clean things that I know shouldn't be cleaned, but that wouldn't cause a CTD with no mods enabled. Â @nutluck I've done that 5 times already. I'm just deleting everything in the Skyrim folder that isn't a BSA, and using steam to reacquire the files to see if that works. I've been using SKSE 1.7 for about a week now, and didn't have any problems until today.
CeeTeeDee Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 it may be a skse plugin .dll conflict, why not troubleshoot specific plugin dll's in the /skse/plugins/ folder, skse will attempt to load any dll in that folder, try removing all 3rd party skse plugins and see if it loads using skse, if so try to isolate the culprit by adding dll's in one by one.Â
razgriz416 Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 Post a papyrus log pls. Â It's not even creating logs. Logging is enabled, but it seems like it's crashing before the scripts even start working. Â Â I'm thinking it's probably a .dll conflict, but I went back to a fresh install. Going to rebuild the mod list and see what happens.
davidporter89 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 could you post what the windows app_crash says. (the window that pops up when it crashes.)
razgriz416 Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Yeah, as soon as I redownloaded and reinstalled SKSE it was fine. Probably a corrupted pex file I missed or something I missed several times when reinstalling SKSE.
