Arthenon Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I downloaded Jael de-Vraevi follower over at the Elder Scrolls General and she's got the purple hair problem. I found what I thought were typos for her hair and fixed them but I'm still getting the hair problem. Jael uses the lovelyhair styles. Can someone take a look at this follower and see what I'm missing? I was looking at the meshes folder and found lovelyhair02a.nif which I thought was the typo because in the esp, the Head Part says lovelyhair02aa. I'm using TES5Edit. TIA,

TIA, there are 2 NIF files that have to be edited 1 the hair nif that is by itself in folder Jael de-Vraevi Follower\Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets\hair\ 2 the head nif that also has the hair in folder Jael de-Vraevi Follower\Data\meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\Jael deVraevi Follower.esp\ they need to be edited in NifSkope the mesh is pointing to the wrong texture file did you edit both ?
Arthenon Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 Thanks for the reply and I only edited the second one using TES5Edit. I changed the .esp over to lovelyhair02a.nif instead of the original that had two aa. What needs to be changed with the nif file?
shedidwhat Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I dont know if you have used NifSkope before so Im gone be very detailed. if you have used Nifskope alot ...Sorry open up the lovelyhair02a.nif file with Nifskope click on the hair mesh and you will see in the left box NiTriShape will become highlighted. (in the left box) click on the little arrow that is at the highlighted NiTriShape. you will then see the BSLightingShaderProperties click on its arrow. now we are able to see the BSShadertextureset. click on the word BSShadertextureSet and in the botton you can see Textures at the very bottom. click on the arrow infront of Textures now you can see the hairs texture path that needs to be changed. right now the path is textures\actors\character\hair\lovelyv1.dds and needs to be changed to textures\actors\character\hair\lovely02.dds you can do that by right clicking in the box where is says textures\actors\character\hair\lovelyv1.dds then go to Texture Choose and click on choose then you just have to go to the right texture and select it. after that correct the 2nd texture path then save the file. then go to the other Nif thats in FaceGen folder and fix it the same way NifSkope Download page in case you dont have it yet http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope OR I guess you can just change the names of the hair texture file from lovely02.dds to lovelyv1.dds and lovely02_n.dds to lovelyv1_n.dds OR #2 here are the corrected meshes ( they "should" work ) meshes.7z
Arthenon Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 Thank you! I was able to fix the 1st nif per your instructions. The 2nd nif was already showing the correct dds files but when in game Jael's hair was still messed up. So I downloaded your file and that fixed it. Again thank you,
Arthenon Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 Can one of the moderators put a post in the locked topic over at Skyrim Adult Mods that points to this topic? Seems quite a few people have looked at it. Thanks,
