Fredas Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Just a couple of questions related to player dialogue entries. 1: Odd situation. I'm adding player dialogue to a preexisting mod. I do this one of two ways: Either I duplicate an existing dialogue and change the words, or I create a new dialogue entry from scratch. The in-game behavior ends up being the following: Preexisting dialogue entries: Conversation moves along (or ends) 1.5 seconds after selecting dialogue. Duplicated-then-changed entries: Conversation moves along (or ends) 1.5 seconds after selecting dialogue. Brand new dialogue entries: Conversation takes forever (5+ seconds) to move along (or end) after selecting dialogue. I've scrutinized the dialogue entries very closely in an attempt to identify any possible differences that could account for this anomaly. I can't find anything. But the problem is 100% reliable: My entries take forever. Preexisting entries, or copies of entries, don't waste time. Anyone have an idea why? 2: When I add a dialogue branch in CK, in-game it pops up at the bottom of the dialogue list. How do I go about forcing a particular order? (I already tried arranging the entries alphabetically.)
Fredas Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 About the only thing I can think of for question #2 is to completely delete all dialogue entries and start over, on the assumption that CK maintains (somewhere inaccessible) a list of dialogue entries by date and uses said list to dictate their order of appearance. Still no clue at all on question #1.
