My skyrim wont update via steam?

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem, I have Skyrim purchased via steam, But for some reason it wont update, I tried it with the newest sexlab mod and SkyUI but when I start a new game it says I have an outdated Skyrim, Apparently version 1.0. When I try to update via steam it gives me a message that says it cant validate 1 file and will be required but nothing ever happens.

 

I am at a loss on how to update this game, Usually steam does this automatically but its not updating for reasons unknown.

Sounds like something screw up during install, try uninstalling and reinstalling.

I have just tried that 30 mins ago, It had no effect sadly .

In that case try this

 

Right click on Skyrim in your Steam library, click properties, click on local files, and then press the "Verify the integrity of local files".

I only see Verify integrity of local game cache, I did that before and it came up with the same error of it being unable to validate 1 file and it would reacquire it.

 

I am redoing this now and will see if it changes anything.

Keep in mind depending on the file it could take a long time for it to remove and then replace the file. It depends a lot on your connection speed. When i say a long time I mean like 30 mins or more depending on your connection speed and what it has to replace.
