Ches Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 So I downloaded this small clothing set the other day. Here's an image of what it's supposed to look like in game: Now the black pieces work... however the textures for the white pieces, for whatever reason, fail to load (instead, I get that lightish purple color that's the telltale sign of texture issues). What could be causing that, and how can it be rectified?
Ches Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 Still haven't figured this out. Yet the texture files for the white variant exist, and opening it up in a photo editor shows it's not just a blank image, so I have no idea why it wouldn't be present in-game.
nutluck Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I can't read that page so hard to say, there might be special instructions for it for who knows. I did notice it says it is for oblivion though.
Ches Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 The website on which it's hosted may have "oblivion" in its domain, but it's for Skyrim alright. A mod called "Sporty Outfit for UNP" wouldn't be meant for Oblivion, not to mention that it actually does (partially) work in my game. And there are no special instructions listen on that page or within the files of the mod itself. There shouldn't be a need for any, it's just a basic clothing mod. But for whatever reason, the white variant's textures just do not load.
BlackArk Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Path to textures is textures\TT\tanktop.dds Rename clothes folder that is in the texture folder to TT and move all files from inside sporty to the TT folder?
Ches Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 Path to textures is textures\TT\tanktop.dds Rename clothes folder that is in the texture folder to TT and move all files from inside sporty to the TT folder? Thank you, it looks like this is indeed the problem. For some reason, the path to the white textures is different from the path to the black textures. Unsurprisingly, changing the path to textures\TT\etc. now causes the white textures to work and the black textures to fail. I guess my next question is, how can I change the file path so that it's congruent between both the white and black textures? (Though this is less important as I could always just create two separate paths.)
BlackArk Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 if black is broken now put another copy of the textures in the original location.
Ches Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 Yeah, that's what I did, and it works as expected now. I was just wondering how I would go about making the paths for the black and white textures identical so that I wouldn't have to split them up like that. Again, it's not really a big deal because now that it's installed and functioning in-game I'm never going to be looking at the file structure anyway. But regardless, I'm curious as to how I would go about doing so if I were so inclined.
