If they are humping the air, it's not a matter of cock size, but misalignment in the animation.

 

Pretty much all animations will work with any cock size (almost), but if they aren't lining up properly or not reaching, then adjust the position of the animation itself to get it just right. Thus why SexLab has hotkeys for such things.

 

Otherwise, go to town on whatever size you want. Though one small note, the bigger you go, the more chances of clipping through the body. Usually 5 Essences of the Dragon (without adjusting the booster in MCM) is a nice large size that won't clip through skulls and stomachs. Going for more after that, you risk clipping through the body with your cock. But if you're just humping air, adjust the animation or the angle of your cock first before making yourself larger.
