npc setrace + pcea + ck

hi,

 

i'm trying to edit an npc to use the same animations the player toon uses,

 

since i'm using pcea it means i have to change the npc's race.

 

if i change the npc's race using the console, then open the npc's facegen data in the ck and export it the npc facemorphs no longer work.

 

i've google'd this and found only info about beast race morphs but not the issue i'm having.

 

how do i properly change an npc's race and correct the face animation bug?

Based on my experiences in-game, you are going to need to change the race of the NPC and export its facegendata. You may need to make some adjustments, as well. You see I wanted make her a succubus. When I loaded her facegendata through ECE, I really didn't like how my character looked. Then I thought to change her race through console, It worked, much to my surprise, her face the same as when she was temptress but because the two races possess different skull maps, her jaw under the skin could be seen. I easily resolved it using showracemenu command. But I ended up reverting her to temptress race, for personal reasons. I may be wrong as I have no experience modding. But try it. What's the harm?

i'm try to change serana from a nord to a temptress so that she uses custom idles since i'm using PCEA

 

i haven't modded or used replacers on the vanilla races and i don't intend to, only custom characters and esp-based armors etc...

 

so this is what i do.

 

console serana and setrace temptressrace, then serana changes to temptress, loses her tonemap...

 

load the CK andinlcude the temptressvixen.esp and change her race to temptressrace in an unique esp, save the esp and load the game

 

then the idle animations work, she looks the same but her lips don't move when she talks...

 

what i have noticed is opening her xx002b6c.nif file in facegeom directory shows no meshes, just strings and that exporting her facegendata fails all together.
