My problem is complicated I think but I explain my best. Forgive bad english and lots of reading.

I build my first gamer PC almost week ago and I have had problem with the blue screen error and random restarting

.

When i first install my windows 8 for first time my computer acted very strange. It would give me error messages when I tried to create new folders for desktop or copy files from USB flashsticks and harddrive to my new harddrive. When I played my saint row 3 game my PC screen went black and then blue screen.

^^

It was this error but it was (0%) and restarted after 2 seconds. It happen very fast.

After the restart I went back to steam and when I tried to play saint row 3 again nothing would happen. The game did not start.

I try to play skyrim instead but windows gave error saying a .dll file was missing. I forgot name of it but I remember google searches saying it was Direct X error and I needed to install that to fix it.

When I tried to install games They all would fail to get direct X. I did google again and found that I should try to get direct X from microsoft company by webbroswer. That too gave error message. At same time this was happening I  was downloading battlefield 3 and batman arkham city.My steam and origin were stopping the downloads saying disk write errors.

Next day when I turn on PC I got windows message saying that I should run repair mode in harddrive tools menu. I did it and restarted PC. After windows started again I went to my internet to use facebook and youtube for almost a hour and the PC got the blue screen error again. This time after restart my windows went to repair mode and got stuck doing repair and restart over and over and over again.

I renstall my windows 8 again and the problems went away. I got my saint row 3 to play again. But after half hour my PC got blue screen error again. When it restarted it did not detect my harddrive. I restall windows again.

for 2 days everything worked. I got to play my saint row 3 for  hour. APB worked. Tomb raider played good. battlefield 3 worked good. My skyrim worked good with mods I added.

Then when copying a folder I got blue screen error again.

My friend on skype told me they know a person who can help and told me to  restart and  go bios and pick my USB flash drive as boot #1 and hardrive as Boot #2. Then after windows 8 install and first automatic restart I go back to bios and put Harddrive as boot #1 and USB as boot #2. I follow guidance and the PC worked again.

Everything was very good. I did lots of testing.

I played games at ultra graphics with direct X11 modes. I broadcast games on twitchtv istalled lots of mods. Made Copy and paste with very big files. I did get error at bottom of screen saying to run repair mod on hardrive but when i did it I was told by windows that the harddrive had no errors. I did repair anyways.

Almost 4 days go  with no problems but normal windows 8.1 problems that lots of people had.

Then when internet browsing my PC crashed. There was no errors until restart.

It said no boot device. After pushing Restart button 3 tries my PC started normal and was working again.

I used internet. Played more games and done work on PC with no problems for another day.

Much later I was installing mods for my skyrim. I did something wrong when adding Sharpshooter ENB and my Skyrim was crashing at start up. I deleted the skyrim folder and then copy my good Skyrim folders back into my steam and documents folders.

Just as note-  I keep 4 back up folders for my bethesda games.

1. brand new  game folder when I first installed the game.

2.my documents folder with default ini's when I first ran game.

3.modded game folder. I made myself a rule. Make a copy of the whole game folder after I install 10 mods so if my game becomes broken from a new mod I can delete whole folder  and start over at a point before the problem so If I have lots of mods and my game stops working. I do not have to install all the mods again. Just the last few.

4.Modded my documents folder with moded ini's

At 50% My PC got Blue screen error again. After restart windows started like normal.

I began the copy again and started to play Tomb raider while I waited. I think at 5 minutes in the game my screen flash red then the PC crashed.

After reboot the screen was black with words saying your PC needs to be repaired a required device isnt connected. error - 0xc000000f.

I am not sure if the problem is as obvious as it looks. I am not very good with computers so i have questions about what has happen.

Can harddrives be broken but do what my Pc has done and work sometimes but not others?

Can software cause random problems like that?

I did not buy DVD tray so i could save money. I use rufus program on my laptop to take files from my windows 8.1 disk and put them on my usb flash drive to install. Could this have cause problems like corrupt windows files?

My laptop battery cannot hold charge and that nickle size battery is dead so I have to set my time and date everytime I start my windows xp. Some programs will not work right if the date and time is not set to right. I did nothing to my bios when i first start my new gamer PC and my clock has always been wrong. Can this cause problems?

Do you have to do anything to bios when you first start PC?

EDIT: I was using westeren digital blue 7200 rpm 1 terabyte. They reliable?

Also after I install windows 8 again I did memory test for the ram with memtest up to 160% with 0 Errors found.

I also did test. I turn on my computer but then unplug my harddrive in middle of start up to see if it gave same error. To see if my haddrive is stop working at random. The error code was 0xc000000e and then 0xc000000f again after trying to repair.

When you built your gamer PC, Did you install the CPU on the board yourself?

Looks like a driver issue to me and not HDD.

Maybe a faulty component on the MB swap it while you can (the MB not the component).

I really hoping that it was not. It was very hard to install the evo 212 cooler fan onto the motherboard and my CPU temperatures stay below 38c at loads. It is perfect and i do not want to take it apart again.  :-/

I just box my harddrive  and got my prints for return yesterday.

When I get my replace I will also order cleaning kit with my dvd tray. If the computer crash again I will send motherboard back.  :dodgy:
