I start this post because I've been trying to figure this out for a while and unfortunately I'm still not sure, so let's see if I can get some imput. Recently I've been thinking about adding some tweaks to my character's naked body to include a couple mods that are used as equipable items for now, like the color-changing pubes, kaw claws and etc. Unfortunately, editing this would mean that everybody would end wearing the same extra parts, which I don't want to happen, so I've been looking for mods that allow for the PC to use an unique body mesh. I've been also thinking about adding a mod to use exclusive animations on my character. The problem is that all these mods work over custom races, and I've been using several mods already that affect races. I didn't want to test much of this stuff yet because I don't want to mess my game, so better be safe than sorry, I though it'd be a good idea to ask for anybody with experience with these. My character is a dark elf, and I've been using XCE, RaceMenu, Ethereal Elven overhaul as well as CharGen, Cross Racial Features, DorkDiva's eyes for elves, and maybe a couple others that I don't remember. How well do these sort of mods fare with custom races? Would it be possible to add a custom "dark elf" race that was compatible with all this stuff so that my character looks the same as always?
