aldz24 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 HI! I need help on trying to make GIMP fix my neck seam issues...i don't really know that much about this , i thought it would just be easy as just highlighting the neck are and just cut and paste to the neck seam area of the map i want the neck area to be but seems i underestimated it. i'm trying to blend trying to paste the neck area of the sg female texture normap face map to the neck area of the real girls face normal map but each time i do the highlight the area , copy/cut it and paste it to the neck area of the other face the pasted highlighted area is smaller than what i had copied/cut .. Sorry i'm a total newbie on GIMP and i really really wanna fix the neck seams in my game Help would be very appreciated
Stevierage Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I don't use GIMP, only Photoshop or paint.net. You will need to resize the bigger map to the smaller map eg, if the Real girls map is 2048k and SG is 1024k, you will need to resize Real Girls down to 1024k (never go up). What could happen then is your head map may not match the body map, also i've found alot of normal maps are not perfect (even SG) but one. So i made two files for neck and body to use and now my normal maps are made up of about 5-6 different maps from different sources and i have no neck seam. Here are the files to help you or anyone. You may need to copy/paste it 2-3 times to get the desired affect. Neck Fix.rar ps, you may still get a color seam if the head and body texture colors don't match.

Stevierage Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Yea copy/paste the head_msn to the femalehead_msn about 2-3 times (same for the body_1_msn to the femalebody_1_msn) leave at *Normal Blend Mode and leave *Opacity at 255, then merge or flatten the layers, then save as: Paint.net = A8R8G8B8 Photoshop = 8.8.8.8 ARGB 32bpp *GIMP = ? *(i don't use GiMP so i don't know what the layout is)

Stevierage Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 No, the ARGB is when you save the file you don't need to touch the color window. Go to File > Save As > name the file and select Save as type: DirectDraw Surface (DDS) (*.dds) then click save > Settings: select A8R8G8B8 in the drop down menu then click OK, done.
