gamertech100 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Hi, I have been trying to create a custom NPC using the Ningheim race, I have successfully exported the face using the spf command, and placed the character into the game, however... all the make up and lip colour I apply in the ECE screen never shows up in the creation kit, or in the game. I'm wondering if perhaps I need to find and move the Facegenparts somewhere after using CRTL F4? or I thought it might be an issue due to using the Ningheim as a race. Could anyone give me some advice on this? Thanks.
gamertech100 Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Also, in the creation kit each .dds file for the head and lip colours only changes the forehead colour which is bright red, I've deleted the tintmask folder in the Ningheim race and reloaded the creation kit, only this doesn't work, now the colour sliders have no effect at all. :/
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 The CK does *NOT* respond well to modded tintmasks. Do not attempt to use the CK to tweak your follower's tints. Do this part in-game, get it looking how you want it, and export the face as an .NPC file. When you make the follower in the CK, do NOT use the "preview" function in your NPC's Actor window, just get all the mechanics right, import the face, and export. I know I've put a full tutorial up for this process somewhere on these boards - have a bit of a browse. Also consult YouTube for a video tutorial, and check the Ningheim page for any race-specific tutorials by that author.
gamertech100 Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 Thank You, hopefully not previewing the actor will help with this, I have checked youtube many times, but there are no tutorials for making a custom race Npc, there's plenty for standard Npc's but there are far less problems with those and it's much easier. I checked the Ningheim page and there is an article to follow, only it's very a hard to follow without a video, and it seems the spf command is not used in his method (strange), anyway I'll keep trying.
gamertech100 Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 I found the solution and as usual, I over looked something very simple, on the Ningheim page right at the bottom of the file list, is the low res tint masks. :/ lol So you just use these's, create the Npc and then upscale them to hi res.
