darkfender666 Posted Thursday at 02:08 PM Posted Thursday at 02:08 PM (edited) FIXED look below for solution and HOW to prevent steam to update the game by itself after a steam anticheat error (caused by win update) Time ago a framework update completely broke my oldrim. Took a month to rebuild it with anniversary edition and worked for couple months Once again yesterday a new windows framework update broke my skyrimSE error launching SKSE STEAM AE: (i surely had SKYRIM updates disabled) -------- You are using a newer version of Skyrim than this version of SKSE64 supports. If this version just came out, please be patient while we update our code. In the meantime, please check http://skse.silverlock.org for updates. Do not email about this! Runtime: 1.7.104 SKSE64: 2.2.6 -------- so i updated skse Error changed saying address library version was wrong So installed address library and all skse dependeincies A popup appears saying Skyrim REL/ID.h failed to load address library file. SSEDIT does not give any error. Please help Last files downloaded and installed....maybe i am missing something... This is the load order (with LOOT) LoadOrder_SkyrimSE_2026-10-15T15-54-59.txt Edited 2 hours ago by darkfender666
alxndr3958 Posted Thursday at 05:07 PM Posted Thursday at 05:07 PM Go to GOG.com and buy Skyrim AE it does not need updates. The reason behind it it has a different engine it's a offline version so it has different software engine then steam variant no updates need.

Basically i noticed every single mod using address library stopped working each one gives that message I can disable few but basically every single mod using address library won t work until they release an update... that sucks so bad.

darkfender666 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago UPDATE: I think i fixed everything for people that might have the same issue: Made an update in win 11 Steam gave an error at restart about some anticheat.... restarted Steam updated game to 1,7,X silently (i think) Upgrading skse and address library did not work: every mod using AL gave errors. So i downloaded reliquary app an app that lets you downgrade Skyrim (there is a Youtube vid on how to use it) -problem: i installed manually skse (only one i had to install manually): -had to delete skse loader the dll and changed name to the folder "SRC" under game files folder -at this point i installed SKSE (manaually again), and then with vortex, all mods related (i had uninstalled to try the upgrade): SKSE engine fixes files etc and all 1.6 address library files. Everything works. Next step taking away steam privileges to update skyrim: I shut down skyrim and STEAM I went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\ looked for appmanifest_489830.acf Right click=> read only => ok this should prevent skyrim to update the game no matter what (also remember to choose the option update only when game is launched in steam for skyrim but with read only it sould not matter) 1
