They Miss You, Then They Come Back Sooner

BlackBox Mods · The Sims 4 · 18+ · version 1.3.0

Requirements

• The Sims 4, with script mods turned on.
• WickedWhims, installed beside this folder. WickedWhims is not in the zip.
• Young adult, adult, and elder humans. Teens, children, toddlers, infants, babies, pets, and relatives stay out.
• The zip is the full mod.
  

The visit
Finish a scene with a young adult, an adult, or an elder. That Sim can miss the house. About fifteen sim minutes later a card shows their name, and they come to the lot.

While a card is up, the portrait of the Sim you are playing shifts to Flirty. That face stays on you in build mode and on another lot.

The card stays up for about one sim hour. On that Sim, choose Open for their name or Turn them down.

A notice appears when something changes

• The clock starts.
• They reach the door.
• Halfway through the hour they are still on the step.
• You open.
• You turn them down.
• The scene fails to start.
• They come in without you.
• A quiet clock breaks and they start back.
  

Waiting minutes stay quiet.

Open
Open for that name and the scene starts with that Sim. If they were still off the lot, they are brought in first. During the sex they talk, one line at a time, about how it feels, what they are doing, and the next visit. The lines stop when the scene ends. Finishing it raises the relationship. Each time you open, the next visit arrives sooner, the Flirty face is stronger, and the next card remembers the last time.

Turn them down
Turn that name down and the card comes down. Three quiet days can settle it. Opening any door during those days moves that clock forward. It settles only when those quiet days finish.

Leave the card up
Leave the card up and they still arrive. The visit turns Tense, the relationship drops, and the next knock comes sooner. Ignoring it does not stop the clock. Leaving them, or letting them walk in, makes the return sharper.

A second Sim
A second Sim can keep a separate clock. Two cards can be up at once. Anyone else waits until a card comes down.

Simoleons

• Sometimes the card says they are bringing simoleons. That amount is one fifth of the cash their household already has, and it changes hands when the door opens.
• Sometimes they ask for that same amount from the house you are playing before the door opens. If your house is short, the door stays shut and the card stays up.
• An empty household brings nothing. A household with under §5 brings nothing. If they live in the house you are playing, no money moves.
  

After time away
Come back after a long gap and the missed knocks do not play out one by one. The next card is up, that Sim is called to the lot, and you still get the hour to answer. A clock saved by an older build is pulled up to this shorter wait the next time the lot is running. Leave knock.json alone.

Moodlets
You and the Sim at the door each hold one moodlet. The next moment replaces it.

Install

1. Quit the game.
2. Copy the folder in the zip to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\BlackBox_TheKnock\
3. Inside that folder, directly: BlackBox_TheKnock.ts4script and BlackBox_TheKnock.package
4. One folder deep. Keep this folder beside WickedWhims, not inside it.
5. Delete localthumbcache.package if it is there.
6. Load a lot.
   

The package is the moodlets. Without it, the messages still run and the moodlet panel stays empty.
After testingcheats true, bb.knock.status should print The Knock v1.3.0.

Cheats

• bb.knock.soon pulls a waiting knock up to this minute, so the next minute cards it.
• bb.knock.off hides the rows and stops new clocks.
• bb.knock.on turns it back on.
• bb.knock.clear drops every clock.
