WickedWhims Inappropriate Unlock Broken?

Does the WickedWhims Inappropriate Unlock only unlock the sexual/WW side of incest, or is it supposed to also allow normal romantic interactions?

I'm trying to make two adult Sims who are siblings have an actual romantic relationship in-game. I installed the Inappropriate Unlock, enabled the family relationship/incest switch in WickedWhims, and gave both Sims the incest Wicked Attribute.

The setup is partially working: they recognize each other as family, they're attracted to each other, and they can use WW sexual interactions. However, they cannot perform any of the normal Romance socials with each other. Their Romance menu only has things like asking about romance interests, asking about woohoo interests, and a few physical-intimacy interactions like offering massages. Normal flirting/romantic socials don't appear.

For comparison, the Sims can use normal Romance interactions with unrelated Sims, so this doesn't seem to be a general romance problem. I've also restarted the game and deleted localthumbcache.package.

All the questions and answers related to incest are “download the inappropriate unlock,” but I already have it downloaded and enabled. I haven't been able to find clear information about whether it is actually supposed to override the game's normal family restriction on vanilla romance interactions.

So: is the Inappropriate Unlock working as intended in this situation, with only the sexual interactions being unlocked, or should it also make normal romance interactions available between family members? If the latter, is there another setting/mod needed to make the normal Romance socials work?

 

I have the Expanded Incest Mod by HalfVampireDoughnut as well and can seem to do interactions from that mod fine, but still no actual romantic social are available.

I haven't updated the game since Patch 199 but I think this is a base game issue. Patch 193 (the Royalty expansion) reworked how families are tracked, and subsequent "fixes" to incestuous situations have probably patched out the underlying exploits. It's right around that time Expanded Incest started breaking, and so far nobody's figured out if or how to reliably re-enable the old behaviour.

I have so many mods I can't tell you if one helped me avoid this but I have adult siblings and even teenage siblings with the wicked incest traits and they can have full romantic socials with each other and beyond.  I have the normal wickedwhims and the inappropriate unlocker but no other mods that specifically open up incest activities.

So I keep hearing this and Idk if this helps anyone but I actually do not own the Royalty expansion and all those mods still work for me, so I think the solution sadly is to either not own or disable Royalty if you want those things to work

I own the Royalty DLC too for what its worth.  Specifically to Lanister things up with that family I mentioned.  I never globally enable Incestuous behavior, its allowed but my Sims each need the Incestuous WickedWhims trait to make the actions and socials available.  Not every royal family are Lanister, just most

I have all the packs but the WickedWhims Inappropriate Unlock still works fine for me.
