A question about new update

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi, after a while I decided to start installing Skyrim mods again and I saw that, unfortunately, a new version (1.7.104) has been released. I imagine there are a lot of outdated mods, so my question is:
Is this new update a big problem, and would it be better to wait a while for the modders to update their mods before reinstalling them, or is it not such a big deal and could I go ahead and reinstall them?
I remember that a while back I had over 200 mods, so I reckon the first option would be best.

(By the way, English isn’t my first language, so I apologise if there are any mistakes.)

It is in fact a big problem. Most mods that use SKSE have to be updated for the new version, even ones that used Address Library / CommonsLib. You're definitely better off sticking with 1.6.whatever for a while.  You're not missing anything anyway - unlike the 1.6 updates that broke things but came with some huge benefits too, this update doesn't have anything useful for PC players unless you make heavy use of the Creation Club or play on Steam Deck.
